"You are the extent of his hysteria."
My whole being was immobilized when he said it. It was impossible, he couldn't be crazy about me. He didn't even remember anything! An interlude of confusion I was unable to grasp came.
"What do you mean?" I asked, tilting my head in perplexity.
"Who am I to him, Prince? I couldn't be his hysteria," I asked, strongly desperate at this point.
"Tell me more, what did he do- No, what is doing?" My voice softened and he was taken aback as he had never seen me in this state before.
But, since when has controlling a heart been easy?
"Prince! Come here!" Cinzel's voice came from behind.
"Coming!" He replied, not removing his eyes from me, trying to study how a bare murmur could evoke emotions in a lifeless being like me.
Taking a step closer, "Please tell me."
I almost pleaded, wanting to know what hysteria he was talking about, what I have done to him when the one who destroyed me is him.
"What if I say 'he' is the worshiper of 'your' existence?"
My heart skipped when he amplified the fire in my chest under the weight of his words, leaving me alone in this state of devastation. Stunned, I refused to believe it.
But, then again, why does he care? Why did he go through the same pain as mine? He forgot everything but he remembered my eyes, he remembered the last promise he made. Obviously I meant much more than I could imagine.
At that time I realized-
Neither I confessed nor he.
And once again, my path was obstructed. For a moment, I want to fuck everything and offer my very self to him and never return from the city of his heart.
Can I do that? Neglect my duty? Our plan? Our mission? And chose him? Can I become selfish?
"Zariah."
My heart felt immense serenity when Nathaniel called my name. My heart began to thump and I remembered last night's words. I smiled and turned to him.
"Hmm?" I hummed, he arched a brow at my demeanor but shrugged it off as nothing.
"You are early today. Are you back for lunch only or took a day off?" I asked sweetly, unable to control myself.
How beautiful it would be if he would be a worshiper of my existence?
"I took a day off, I want to spend some time with Cinzel." He shrugged, noticing my looks with confusion.
"Why are you happy-" Before he could ask, Sky came.
"Uncle!"
A smile instantly came to his lips as he picked her up and I hoped he would smile at me like this too.
"Hey Princess, how was your day?" He asked, ruffling her hair.
"It was great! Mama showed me Grandma's garden, I loved it!" She beamed, telling him happily.
"Ah, great reminder, I promised to show Cinzel our family album. She wanted to see it badly." He made an 'o' face, putting her down and was about to leave with Sky happily.
I felt like an outcast, he was leaving as I didn't exist. Why am I not in his family circle, among the people he cherished?
Inducing a sting in my chest but he stopped in his tracks and turned to me, "What are you doing there? Come."
