"What was that five minute ordeal?" I asked nonchalantly. A sinister smile came to her lips but a voice under the affectation of sweetness came out.

"Oh that? If he hadn't ended the meeting in the next five minutes. I would have killed him." She smiled wickedly.

"What?" Pausing, I looked at her with a disquiet expression.

"I thought I told you to not engage in a fight." I frowned, displeased at her words.

"He doesn't know that." She shrugged, not bothering much about it. Her ways of threatening were just unbelievable.

"Were you always like that?" I asked, narrowing my eyes at her. She remained unaffected, arms closed along with eyes.

"Guess who is notorious for being violent?" She asked with a heartless smirk.

Sighing at her expression, I pinched the bridge of her nose, knowing it was impossible to talk out for now, she was only fulfilling her duties.

And nothing else mattered before it.

"Anyways, what do you suggest we do at the start of our war?" She asked, finally turning to me, sounding... thrilled.

I prefer solving this tribulation silently but didn't seem like she would prefer it.

"Shouldn't you await further instruction from your Father hmm?" I mocked, rolling my eyes.

"I am assigned as the in-charge, he doesn't care as long as the job is done." She mumbled, looking out of the window, well aware of what I was going to speak.

"Basically using you." I said, loud enough so she could hear it but her ears of realization were closed.

"So, what do you say? Better discuss it soon because I fight head on unlike you who attack from the shadows." She asked, waiting for a reply but my mind still lingered on what happened, not functioning properly.

Moreover she evoked unwanted grief also by mentioning those feelings I intended to suppress. Our marriage was the mark of Axel's death and it had begun.

Attaching feelings now would be fatal because we didn't know what awaits us in the end.

Who knows she would betray me?
Hmph, as if I would allow this to happen.

She had always been in my claws. My golden bird. That thought made me smirk darkly, impotent to stop the electrification I gained to perceive the end.

"Say something." She called to get my attention, dragging me out from my thoughts.

"I am exhausted for now, let's talk about it tomorrow." I sighed, rubbing my temples. The slipping cracks were inviting upon the distress. Tsk, damn feelings.

Glancing at Zariah, my mind still stuck on her words, I could eradicate her so close confession from my mind.

'Do you love me?'

I thought, which brought an empty smile but the answer came immediately.

'What am I thinking? Love and her don't blend together. It must have been a part of her work or something."

"What happened? Why are you smiling? What are you thinking?" Zariah asked, noticing the unknown smile stayed on my lips.

"I am not, you are imagining." I muttered, looking out of the window as we went back.

Without exchanging further conversations, I went to sleep but unfortunately it was not bestowed upon me.

Deprived of my lull, I was staring at the ceiling. With a tensed heart, overflowing with talks I never shared with anyone. Knowing the day when this all would end was nearing.
