Zariah

'What have I done?!

How could I let my emotions manipulate me?

The whole reason I was here was to bring him down and take his position so how the fuck I could stop when I had the perfect chance!?'

"Okay, I failed, so what?!"

I should have killed him back when I had the chance, he was right in my range.

If I had pulled the trigger back then, this heart mind would be liberated from the suffocating sensations knitted to my chest.

"What the hell do you think you were doing?!" Alessandra yelled at me over the phone.

"We were planning to kill Nathaniel sooner or later, so why didn't you kill him back then?" She snarled at my lack of cognition towards the critical matter.

"We need him to reach Axel, before that we can't do anything."  I sighed.

"What?"

"If anything happens to Nathaniel, not only the balance of the underworld would be ruined but we will end up fighting among ourselves."

Taking a seat, filing my nails, her scolding was simply frivolous, I was pathetic before my feelings.

"Besides, He... Sebastian would devour us all."

"That man is a beast. if anything happened to Nathaniel, he would take over everything." I placed a logical explanation why I couldn't kill him.

While in reality I couldn't. I had no other reason. I couldn't bring myself to pull the trigger.

"Okay, I get it. But, You wanted to wallow in the few breaths left with him; you did, then what's the problem now?"

"When did I complain?"

"Sooner or later we had to deal with Black Death or Axel. You cannot prevent the upcoming devastation."

She was fuming at my lack of reaction but if she came to know I couldn't do it, it would be fatal.

"What was I supposed to do? Both of us were surrounded and you know, I am powerless before my bloodlust." I told her nonchalantly, yawning at this point to not make my powerlessness obvious.

"Still, Zariah, it was the best opportunity. You could have killed Nathaniel and captured Garrison unlike your idiotic husband," She sighed deeply in disappointment.

"The whole area was surrounded by Alroy shadows, they wouldn't let their King die." I explained the fake situation to her for the third time.

"Yeah, and you also did your duty as the Queen, right? Protect your King." She mocked, chuckling dryly.

"It worked in my favor. It lessened his rage about Dante, I can use it to my advantage to earn his trust." I said calmly.

Looking around the room, to see if someone is listening or not because I was trapped in his place and they keep an eye on all my activities.

"I understand still-" She tried to make me understand but I stood up, exhaling.

"Al." I called her sternly, "Yeah?"

"I know what I should do. I won't let my feelings ruin our plan. I know what I am doing, you don't have to meddle."

"Seriously? You are saying that?"

"Yeah, It wouldn't be long when both Alroy and Hyenas would be out of our way. I will make my way up to the five aces of the underworld. I will reach them."
