Chapter 6

Nia

"I think it's something I ate my stomach is upset." I told Rio as we were leaving the restaraunt.

"Damn baby, you want me to drop you off home?" He looked over at me as we stopped at a red light.

I nodded my head. The truth is I was going to see Chris. I know I should be taking advantage of family time since we rarely have it but Chris wouldn't stop texting my phone and I have the urge to surprise him.

"I can drop the kids off at the movies or something and take care of you." Rio offered.

"Oh no baby, I will be fine. You enjoy time with our kids since you rarely get that." I kissed his cheek as he pulled up to our house.

"You sure you don't need me to take care of you?" Rio asked.

"I'm positive babe." I laughed as I pecked his lips before I got out the car. "Kids behave." I eyed them both.

Ariana rolled her eyes, and Jayden was to into his phone. I closed the car door and walked towards the house pretending I was going in.

I waited until Rio pulled off and turned the corner then I headed next door to Chris's house. I scrunched my eyebrows in confusion as I seen a small red car parked in his driveway, I know it's not his so who's could it be?

I knocked on the door patiently waiting for him to answer. Chris looked surprised to see me when he answered the door, he quickly stepped out cracking the door behind him.

"Nia, I thought you were out with your family." He gave me a confused look.

"I was, but I wanted to surprise you." I smirked at him. "You Aren't going to let me in?"

"You kinda came at a-." Chris paused as the door opened and a caramel complexion girl walked out smiling.

"Babe, dinner is ready."

Babe? I thought to myself. Oh wow, so he's one of those guys?

"Who's the pretty lady?" The girl asked.

Chris rubbed his eye like he had something in it. "Kay this is my next door neighbor Nia, Nia this is my best friend Kay."

"Nice to meet you Nia." She smiled at me.

"Yeah same here. I'm going to get going, sorry I interrupted." I was about to take a step down the steps until Kay said something.

"Um Nia, stay for dinner." She suggested.

"Thank you for the offer, but I just ate awhile ago." I faked a smile.

"Nia." Chris called after me.

"Yes Christopher?" I answered him.

"We have plenty of food, both of us ain't gon eat it by ourselves."

"I appreciate the offer, but I'm not hungry. You two lovebirds enjoy." I waved goodbye.

For some odd reason I felt like my heart just broke. Seeing Chris with another girl hurts me, even though he said that's his best friend.

I went straight home and poured me a glass of wine. I sighed as my doorbell rung soon as I sat down. I was surprised to see my best friends Sanaa and Gabrielle at the door.

"My loves!" A huge smile spread across my face.

"Nia baby!" Gabby and Sanaa gave me a huge bear hug.

"What brings yall two by?" I closed the door as they walked in.

"Rio told me to check up on you. I heard you wasn't feeling to well." Sanaa said.
