Chapter 26

A/n: a few more chapters left until this story is ending. I don't think I'm going to write a sequel, but I can do an epilogue.

Nia

I paced back and forth with Kristyn in my arms as she continued to cry. Nothing seemed to work to get her quiet.

I called Chris phone back to back and he didn't answer, talking about someone pissed. I am heated.

"Baby girl, what's wrong? I fed you, I changed your diaper, I sung to you! What is it?" I held my head, a headache was starting to form.

Kristyn screams grew louder. I sat her down in her crib and walked away.

"Mommy, I can't sleep. Why is she crying?" Ariana asked.

"I don't know baby, something must be wrong."

I grabbed my phone to call a nurse to get some advice on what to do, maybe she's sick.

Chris

Rich homie quan - flex blasted through the speakers. I had my red cup in my hand as I danced.

A female who resembled Kay bumped into and I pulled her back as I realized it was her.

"Kayla, what are you doing here?"

"None of your business." She yanked her arm away from me.

"Kay." I ran after her. "I just want to talk to you."

"Well I don't want to talk Chris. You just don't get it you have hurt me way to many times. It's over."

"Kayla watch out." I screamed as I tried to pull her back, it was to late a car hit her.

I watched as body flew up and hit the ground.

"Kaaaaayla." I ran over to her.

Sweat was pouring down my face as I tossed and turned. My eyes finally opened. Michael, Trey, and August were all crowded around me.

"Bro, you good?" Michael laughed at me.

"Where is Kayla?" I got up.

"Who the hell is Kayla?" Trey furrowed an eyebrow.

"She got hit by a car." I paced back in forth.

"Homie you're makin no sense at all right na'." August laughed.

"I chased Kayla through the crowd outside. I was trying to talk to her and she backed up in the street and a car hit her."

"Man you was dreamin' you was out half of the party. We been trying to wake your ass up for the pass 20 minutes." Michael said.

I let out a sigh of relief. Felt good to know I was only dreaming, but what if that dream meant something? It still scared the hell out of me.

I grabbed my phone out my pocket to check the time, but my eyes widened once I realized how many missed calls I had from Nia. Oh shit something must be wrong.

I quickly called her back and she didn't answer. Now she wants to be the ass and not answer, I don't have time for this bull shit. I was about to head out the door until Michael and Trey pulled me back.

"Bro just stay here for tonight, I wouldn't be a good friend if I let you get behind the wheel of your car faded."

"I appreciate it man, but I think something is wrong with my kid."

"Kid, oh shit Chris a daddy now?" Aug dapped me up.

"Yeah I got a little girl." I smiled to myself just thinking bout how precious she is.

I called Nia again only to be sent straight to voicemail. Now her ass playin' games.

"Imma be good y'all. Just let me go." I tried getting up.

"Naw man, what if that dream you had have something to do with you. Just chill out here for the night." Trey said.

I nodded my head they was right. I have a daughter who needs me in her life. Even though I'm dying to see what's going on with her right now, I'd be selfish to get behind the wheel and kill myself.

I called Nia again and she finally answered.

"Oh now you decide to fuckin call back!" Nia screamed In my ear.

"Relax Nia I didn't hear my phone I fell asleep. What's going on?"

"If you would answer your phone you would fuckin no!" Nia yelled.

"I apologize aight. What's wrong with baby girl?"

"I finally got her to sleep now, don't even matter."

"Come on Nia, don't be like that." I ran my hand down my face.

"Christopher where are you?" She asked.

"For someone who don't want to be with me asks a lot of questions."

"You know what goodbye Chris."

"Nia, stop being immature right now. What's wrong with Kristyn?"

"Like I said You should've answered your phone, you're a father now emergencys like this happens."

"You know what Nia, I'll handle you in the morning. Night." I ended the phone call, she was really pissing me off with her attitude and I wasn't about to go back and forth with her.
