Chapter 23

Mario

I talked to Nia the other night and we both decided on getting a divorce and seeing other people. There's no point of us trying to work it out when she doesn't feel the same way I feel about her.

"Are you okay?" Christina asked me.

"Yeah I'm good." I took a bite of my steak.

"I was worried, you barely touched your food." She took a sip of her drink.

I cracked a small smile. Christina and I have been texting more often. Right now I'm on a friendly date with her. We both decided on building a friendship. I learned that she has a 5 year old daughter & she's been single for almost 2 years.

"What has you so quiet?" Christina picked up a napkin and wiped around her mouth.

"Just thinking about this divorce. Can't believe it's really happening."

"Aww, I'm sorry this happened to you rio." Christina grabbed my hand. "What do you like to do?"

"What do you mean?" I furrowed an eyebrow at her.

"What do you do for fun?" She chuckled.

"I like going to the movies, I like bowling, I like partying sometimes."

"Hmm. How about we go bowling. Let's keep your mind occupied." Christina waved her hand trying to get the waiters attention.

"I haven't been bowling in awhile though Christina."

"Well today we will change that." She smiled.

The waiter walked over and Christina asked for two to go boxes and the check. She was dead ass serious.

I ain't trippin' though I need to have a little fun to get my mind off Nia.

Nia

"Chris." I shook him for the third time.

"Yeah?" He finally awakened.

"Kristyn is crying. I fed her and changed her diaper the last time she woke up. It's your turn."

"C'mon on Nia I barely got an hour of sleep." He groaned into the pillow.

"Welcome to fatherhood." I laughed. "Now get your ass up." I demanded.

"When can I beat that up again?" He pointed to my womanhood.

"After I'm healed now go." I shooed him away.

He slowly got out the bed as he walked towards Kristyn's room.

I smiled to myself as he disappeared, Kristyn is a lot of work but she's a baby. I had to go through the same process with Jayden and Ariana, so I know how it feels to be a mother.

I turned towards my ringing phone, without looking at the caller Id I answered.

Once I realized it was a jail caller I quickly ended the phone call. I know it was no one but Sanaa. That day at the hospital when Sanaa admitted everything to the cops, he arrested her immediately.

So many questions I wanted answers from her. I thought she was my best friend, but allowing Chris in my life showed her true colors.

Chris came back and slid into the bed next to me.

"She's finally back asleep." He let out a sigh of relief.

"You sure about that?" I furrowed an eyebrow.

"Don't jinx it Nia."

"I'm just playing come here." I pulled him closer to me and laid my head on his chest.
