The Blood of The Dragon

Chapter 27

Steven and Susan rode their dragons alone with their parents through the skies when they saw the army of dark dragon warriors make their way to the island.

"Oh no” said James horrified by the sight of the dark dragon warrior.

Marina as well was horrified by this.

Steven and Susan understand what was going on and they did not need to, seeing the look on their parents faces was enough for them to understand that whatever was going on, it wasn’t good.

Then a gigantic fire ball came out of nowhere and hits them before they had a chance to do anything.

The fire ball sent them falling off from their dragons and crash down hard on the forest floor.

James slowly opened his and got up.

Instinctively he looked around for his wife and children, worrying that they might be hurt or worse.

He found Marina, Steven and Susan, luckily they were fine enough to stand up on their own two feet.

“Are you okay” asked James to his wife and children.

“We’ll live” said Marina.

They then heard the roar of a dragon.

Marina and James shared a look of fear and worry as they heard the roar of the dragon.

"Steven, take your sister and hide somewhere safe” said James.

“But father…” before Steven could complete his statement he was cut off by Marina saying “listen to your father Steven, now go”.

Steven sighed before grabbed Susan and fled with her.

Marina and James then readied themselves for a battle.

“Just like old time” said James jokingly which cased Marina to smile, remembering their past adventures with each other.

Two dragons then landed in front of them; a water dragon and a fire dragon.

James and Marina eyes widened in fear and shock when they saw the persons riding the dragon were Dragson and Richard.

“Hello old friend how have you been doing” said Dragson to James as he came down from his dragon.

James then crushed his hands in to a fist in anger upon seeing Dragson.

"Marina my love, I see you are still as beautiful as ever” said Richard as he came down from his dragon.

“Pig” said Marina with a look of anger and disgust.

“Why so bitter James don’t tell me you are still filled with bad…” Dragson was cut short by James hitting him with a fire ball which sent him flying and crashing in to a tree.

“I see you still haven’t changed old friend, that’s perfect, it will make things a little more interesting” said Dragson as throw a fire ball straight for James, hitting him and sending him flying deeper into the forest.

Dragson then went after James.

“Well my lady, can I have this dance” asked Richard.

“Gladly” said Marina angrily as jets of water spewed out of her hands and hits Richard.

Dragson went to James who lying down on the forest floor thank to Dragson’s attack.

“It seems like old age has made you weak, it took just one blast and you are down for the count” said Dragson.

“Who says I’m down” said James as he got up.

Dragson then smiled before he charged straight for James firing blast after blast of fire balls straight for him.

James managed to dodge every single one of the fire balls.

“I maybe old but I still know a trick or two” said James as he struck the ground.

The ground then began to rumble and then red hot flames erupted out of the ground.

The flames completely consumed Dragson.

When the flames died down James sighed in relief thinking that the battle was over and Dragson was defeated.

Dragson emerged from the flames unharmed and without a single scratch on him.

“How are you still standing” asked James complete shocked at how Dragson could emerge from the flames unharmed.

Dragson then smiled before, saying “you see old friend my time in the realm of chaos and darkness has changed me. It made me stronger gave me the power to control the element of fire in every form”.

“Impossible” said James unable to believe that Dragson could control fire in every form.

“You don’t believe me do you, alright then perhaps a demonstration would change your mind” said Dragson as he was about to give James a taste of the power he now possessed.

Dragson then used his power to control all the elemental forms of fire to create lightning which flowed out through his body.

James just stood their shocked and horrified at what he was doing, unable to believe the power Dragson now possessed.

Dragson smiled at James, seeing the fear and shock in his eyes as he witness the power he now possessed before firing a lightning bolt out of his hands and striking James with it.

James fell down to the ground, in immense pain as of the lightning bolt hit him.

He then looked at Dragson and tried to find the strength to get up but he was too weak and in pain.

James slowly closes his eyes and fell unconscious and the last thing he saw before he closed his eyes was the sinister grin on Dragson face.

Marina tried attacking Richard with her water powers but she missed him and he fled, going deep in to the forest.

Marina chased after him, moving deeper and deeper in to the forest.

After a while of chasing after him she found herself surrounded by a strange mist that came out of nowhere.

Marina could sense Richard’s presence all around her but the mist made it next to impossible for her to see anything.

“Show yourself you coward” said Marina.

"But my dear Marina I’m right in front of you” Richard’s voice echoed through the mist.

Then jets of water came out of nowhere and hit Marina from all sides.

Marina was now on the ground wondering how Richard was able to attack her from all sides at once.

She then began to hear Richard laughing through the mist.

“I don’t know why you can’t see what is right in front of you” said Richard.

Marina then fired jets water out of her hands, hitting everything around her in an attempt to hit Richard who she thought was hiding in the mist.

“Is that all you can do Marina” said Richard’s before massive waves of water came out of nowhere and hits Marina.

Richard then began to laugh at Marina once again.

"How are you doing this” asked Marina.

"Alright then, since you asked so kindly, I’ll show you” said Richard.

Then a part of the mist then began to come together to form Richard’s face.

Marina eyes widen as she realized that Richard wasn’t hiding in the mist, he was the mist.

“This shouldn't be possible” said Marina completely horrified.

“But it is my dear Marina. You see thanks to you and you friends trapping me in that realm of chaos and darkness all those years ago I have now acquired the power control water in every form” said Richard before he used his powers to summon a wave of ice and snow straight for Marina, freeze her completely.

Richard then turned from the mist back to his original form.

“You froze my heart when you rejected me for that flame torch, it was only fitting I froze yours as well” said Richard before he kissed Marina’s frozen cheeks.
