Time passed and David grew up as it did.

He was no longer the shy boy that lacked confidence himself and his abilities.

With help from his friends and Victor, he was now bolder and had more confident in himself.

His darkness was still inside of him but he never let it take control over him.

He was able to subdue it and prevent it from controlling him throughout the many years that pasted.

Victor trained him in secret, late at night while the students of the Dragon Academy were fast asleep.

He taught him how to control and use his powers in ways he would think were possible.

David despite the fact that he had managed to subdue his darkness still feared that one day he might lose control to his darkness but Victor did not let him harbor such thoughts in his mind for too long and his support gave him the strength he needed.

David was also the brightest in the Dragon Academy as he had studied and worked hard to earn that title.

Victor knew that as time passed a dark cloud was making its way to them.

He had trained and prepared David as best as he could but he still feared that David might not be ready when the time comes for him to face the many trials headed his way.

One night, while the students of the Dragon Academy were still fast asleep, the forest was noisy as Victor was busy training David. When they were done David collapsed on the ground panting from exhaustion.

“One would think that after all these years of training under you I would be used to the pain” said David.

“The pain is good, it shows that all your training is paying off” said Victor.

“Well considering how much pain I and every single muscle in my body is in I think it’s fair to say that all that training is paying off a little too well” said David as he got.

Victor then smiled at him.

“You’ve come a long way David. You are now strong, faster and smarter than you were when I first found you” said Victor.

“I owe this all to you” said David which caused Victor to smile a little, proud of how far David had come since he arrived at the Dragon Academy.

“You will soon graduate in a few days David and leave the Dragon Academy” said Victor.

“I hate being reminded that soon I would have to say goodbye to this place” said David with a deep sigh, knowing that soon he would graduate from the Dragon Academy would have to leave.

“Have you thought about where you are going when you graduate” asked Victor.

“No, not really; I’ve lived here for so long that it’s hard for me to ever imagine leaving this place” said David.

“I understand the way you feel David but you can’t stay here forever you know” said Victor.

“I do but that doesn’t make it any less painful” said David.Victor then smiled at him before saying “I have watched you from the boy you once were to the young man that stands before me. In many ways you’ve been like a son to me and I guess that makes me a lucky man because I have both a son and daughter”.

"And you have been like the father I never had but always wanted” said David with a warm smile.“You know David; there is a place far away from the Dragon Academy, an island high up in the sky” said Victor.

“I’ve heard of this place, it’s called Sokiri, the land of sky” said David.

“Yes and it is the home of great and wise dragon warriors far wiser than myself. I think it would be best if you go there after you’ve graduated” said Victor.“Why do you think I should go to a piece of land that floats in the sky” said David.
