Mine: Lazy Town.

Chapter Info:
Title- Here Always, a song by Kim Seungmin of Stray Kids, from the soundtrack, Hometown Cha-cha-cha, released 10/10/21. A rough translation to English. Song is a love song about the desire of wanting someone special being by their side, even in difficult situations.

AU: No quirks. Dabi and Tomura face struggles in their life and the struggles are to the point that their relationship falls apart, but they meet people that help them. They realise that they weren't the right people for each other in a romantic sense.

They were in love with the idea of each other, but not who the other was in the moment, which is crucial in relationships.

This chapter includes:

Third Person POV
The day was a gloomy, cloudy, rainy day. A fitting day. It was the funeral of Kotaro Shimura, the father to Tenko Shimura. He had been struck by a full speed truck running a red light and passed on impact at the early age of forty-nine.

Despite what the media depicted about Tenko and Kotaro, Tenko was remarkably close to his father. Kotaro was a brilliant man and had used his wealth to provide education for children who were in struggling families without expecting any payment. He had been the one to get the Shimura family to accept Tenko's extremely successful career as a violinist and pianist. He had also supported Tenko fostering children.

On the day of the funeral, Tenko was made to carry the coffin with his older sister, mother, and grandmother. He was also made to give a speech in front of everyone about his father but couldn't get through it without sobbing. His partner, Toya Todoroki, sat in the crowd, embarrassed at Tenko's crying.

Unlike Tenko, Toya wasn't close to his father. He couldn't care less if his father died. He had once told Tenko that, if given the chance, he'd spit on his father's grave. Neither understood one another's perspectives due to different circumstances, but Tenko was far more accepting.

Not only that, but Kotaro also treated Toya as one of his own. He, Kotaro, also had an absent father, and vowed to himself to never let his children, or his children's spouses, to not have outstanding father figures. He had lived up to his vows.

Toya mouthed to Tenko to stop crying, but Tenko paid no heed. He managed to get through his speech, then set a small box upon the coffin. It was the last gift Kotaro had given his son, and Tenko wanted it to be buried with his father.

Nao, Tenko's mother, embraced her son, sitting on a church pew with him. Toya felt his nostrils flare with annoyance, and he glared at his partner. He didn't understand why Tenko was so emotional, not understanding how Kotaro gave his two kids brilliant, amazing lives. That he was a good father.

"It's going to be okay, love." Nao whispered while Hana walked up to give her speech. "He's not in pain anymore."

"Why did you have to cry like that?" Toya asked while Tenko checked his face in the mirror.

"Because my dad is dead. He was only forty-nine." Tenko snapped, untying his hair. "Just because your father was terrible, doesn't mean mine was. And it doesn't mean you can tell me it's embarrassing to cry over my own dad's death."
