it had been a week since emersyn ran away. she was planning to go back that specific day.
she gathered all her things and walked back to her house. it was a 25 minute walk back home but she didnt mind.
she walked into her apartment building and went up to the first floor.
she opened her door, the keys jingling as she turned the lock. she walked into an empty kitchen and living room.
she walked into her brothers room, he was using his phone on the bed. he looked up
"hi" emersyn says with a small smile
"oh my god, emersyn" luke gets up quickly, hugging his sister "i missed you so much"
"i missed you too" she says, dropping her bag and hugging him fully
"actually never run away again, if you need a break from things and people just tell me and ill stay at vivians house and you just stay here alone" luke says into her shoulder
"running away is really fun when you get the hang of it" she says as they pull away
"emersyn im being serious" he says
"i know you are, luke" she smiles
"oh you should go to the triplets house" he says
"yeah, can you take me there?" she asks
"yes of course" luke grabs his keys
emersyn and him walk out to the car together. she was mentally preparing to see matt. she didnt know how he would react, would he be mad, happy, sad?. she didnt know
they got to their house and emersyn got out of the car. she knocked on the door only for mary lou to open it
"hi mary lou" emersyn smiles
"emersyn! how are you?" mary lou asks, hugging the girl
"ive been okay, uhm, where are the triplets?" she asks, pulling away from the hug
"theyre in nicks room" mary lou says
"thank you" emersyn smiles once more before walking into to nicks door
she just opens it and stands there, literally neither of the 3 boys acknowledging her for a solid 5 minutes since they were on their phones.
"knock knock" emersyn says, leaning against the door frame
"wh- HOLY SHIT" chris yells, getting off the bed rapidly, practically jumping on the girl and hugging her
"youre excited" she chuckles, hugging him back as he picks her up slightly
"CHRIS BACK OFF ITS MY TURN" nick yells as his brother lets his best friend go
emersyn smiles and hugs her other best friend. she could hear nick sniffling and she immediately felt horrible
"nick are you crying" she asks sadly
"no, youre crying" he pulls away "these are happy tears emersyn"
"youre gonna make me cry you asshole" she hugs him again
"i just didnt think you were coming back" he sniffles
"nick are you crazy? i would never leave you guys" she says as they both pull away from the hug
theres an awkward silence as emersyn and matt look at eachother, his brothers knew that they needed to be alone for a moment so they just left the room and closed the door
"emersyn im so sor-" matt starts
"shut up" emersyn hugs him
"i never shouldve said that" he hugs her back
"matt dont worry." she starts "yes you were being an asshole, but i get where you come from. ive been rejected before and it was not pretty. i just, i want you to know that i want to be your girlfriend, i really do, but not right now. matt i swear to you that i love you with my whole heart and i never wanted to hurt you. but you have got to understand my perspective" she finishes
"i do, i understand your perspective. i dont know it just, it came out all wrong. i didnt mean for it to come out like that, i didnt want to upset you. youre right, i dont know what its like to not have parents, and im sorry for saying what i said. i just cant handle rejection, i know i should but i cant and i hate that about myself. please just forgive me emersyn because i cant lose you" matt rants
"matt youre not gonna lose me, i forgive you, i cant stay mad at you" she chuckles
"if you want to run away again please just take me with you" matt says
"i will" emersyn says as they both pull away from the hug
"is this the part where we kiss?" he asks
"be quiet matt" she leans in
"yes ma'am" he kisses her, smiling into the kiss a little
"were so corny" she says as they pull away
"i know and i love it" he kisses her again
"i can tell" she smiles "you actually made me fall so hard for you matthew, literally i fell and someone superglued the ground and i got stuck"
"i love you, emersyn" matt chuckles
"i love you more, matt" emersyn says
