Did she not know what humans were? Then again, she didn't exactly look human either so I couldn't fault her.
"I'm a human."
She looked as if she had found an answer she had been asking for forever.
"Human.. so that's what you are called... Humans?"
She asked in confirmation and I answered.
"Yes."
While she was lost in thought. It wasn't long before she walked up towards me. She was clearly taller than me. My eyes came to her chin and I had no choice but to look up. If I had to guess, she was probably around 15 years old.
"Well... would you happen to know what you're doing here?"
Her eyes gleamed and her limbs glowed. It was a little scary, but to be honest, it looked more beautiful than anything else. When I was younger, I had always enjoyed fireworks, and this grew into a preference for neon when I spent time with her. Looking at the girl in front of me brought back fond memories, and I couldn't help but smile.
Oddly enough, her lips turned into a slight frown.
"Do I not scare you?"
Her tails wrapped around my body, and her eyes looked somewhat sinister as she held my chin up to look into hers.
"You do... but I don't think you're that bad, you haven't done anything to me and you didn't hurt me the moment you met me. You've been polite too, apart from being a little different, I don't think it's something I should be afraid of."
Her eyes stared into mine, I couldn't make out what she was thinking. It was an unbearable amount of time before she finally spoke.
"You are quite different. But also very intriguing."
Different? Oh, I guess she never saw a kid before? She certainly saw humans but they must have only been adults like the guards.
"Oh, I guess it's because I'm only 13 years old."
She didn't seem to understand.
"13? Is that right? What exactly does that mean?"
Oh boy, this was going to be a pain. Did she really not know anything? It would be like teaching a newborn baby! I don't even know most things myself, how am I going to help her?
"Uh... do you know what a year is?"
"Yes. I've heard it and understand it's a method you humans use to measure time. Correct?"
"Right... well, 13 of those 'years' is how long I've been alive."
She looked as if she got it.
"So you're quite inexperienced in life?"
she let out a small giggle.
"So that must mean you're nothing like I know of, those other humans must be far older then."
she was talking to herself, I could only wonder what she went on about.
"I wonder what makes you tick."
I couldn't quite make out what else she said since her voice grew quiet near the end but I supposed it didn't matter.
"Well then, young one. Would you like to get away from here?"
Wait, she wasn't going to make it sound like I was that much younger, she looked like she was only 15! 2 years isn't much!
"Hey hold on here, I'm not that young! You're only about 15 yourself. We're both kids here."
