It took some time, but I was able to tell him everything I saw.
"That's peachy. But... you could say, we have a secret weapon of sorts."
"What?"
He made a motion towards Evelynn.
"He means this."
She had gotten up from her seated position and firmly held something I never thought I'd see again.
"Hey! It's that thing from the junkyard!"
"Right you are."
"That thing can telep-"
"Yes, yes, I know. So does Evelynn. Not too hard to guess what we'll being doing with it."
"How do you even know about it?"
It made sense for Evelynn but certainly not Micheal.
"You could say it had a hand in getting us those cards."
"Seriously? How?"
"If it has the ability to teleport, you never know where it could go on its own."
"I don't get it..."
I tried to figure out why it could have helped Micheal or how it could have come to me so quickly... unless that thing has its own sentience... even then, it needs to have a reason for being soo convenient... Agh! There are too many damn things to think about right now, so screw it. I'll get to it later.
"Anyway, It's best we get along to actually using it."
Micheal moved closer to Evelynn but made no move to hold it.
"Are you coming, kid?"
Oh, right. I walked over to both of them and reached out for the object.
Until my arm got swatted away.
"What in the world are you thinking?"
What?
"Do you have any idea how it works? Why'd you reach out to it without any plan too? Do you even know where exactly we'd need to go?"
"Oh... sorry, wasn't aware..."
I really wasn't. I just felt compelled to touch it again... I couldn't figure out why for the life of me.
"As long as you don't repeat the same mistake."
"Okay, enough wasting time. Evelynn, I already told you where. Focus on it. Imagine what it would look like, grasp it with every intention of being there."
Evelynn closed her eyes as her brows furrowed. Micheal waited patiently beside her, while I stood on the other side. So they discussed where we'd be entering from?
That's strange; did he scout this place before I did? That's scummy! So why send me?
Before I could express my displeasure,
A bright flash covered us all.
For a split second, I felt like I was on the sun.
"You alr-"
I immediately slapped both my hands over my mouth.
Even though the flash was bright, it didn't last long. We were in an old dusty room before I knew it. It was dimly lit, and I couldn't see anything.
"Okay. We're here."
Micheal's voice reached my ears. He sounded like he was close. So we were all still together then.
