Days passed by, I followed several groups of Walkers and found safe places at sunrise. The tin fruit lost its taste after a few days but at least it was something. Something eatable and something to give me energy. Maybe it wasn't much, but it was enough to keep me going. My tap water wasn't refilling itself so every day I had to find a good bit of clean water to fill my bottle with. It was probably the hardest task of the day. Either the Walkers had been in the water or it was all messed up with blood and dead bodies.
I walked through the woods. Walkers were surrounding me and walked peacefully along. We heard a gunshot, somewhere South. The Walkers and I automatically changed our direction and headed to the sound. Of course, there might be people who were ready to fire some shots on me and the Walkers but it was worth the shot. There were more people out there, and maybe these needed help. I speeded up slowly and in a few seconds I ran in front of the Walkers, who were now chasing me.
Another gun shot, now pretty close. My eyes tracked the gun down and soon enough I was running through the woods, trying not to fall. ''Help, someone?!" I heard a yell. I wanted to yell back at them, telling them I was coming but my voice didn't let me. My feet sprinted the last meters to the source of the gunshot.
I immediately stopped running when I saw someone was hanging in a tree. There were 3 Walkers waiting for the guy to drop down and it looked like the guy didn't have enough power to hold on for many seconds. He didn't notice I arrived and neither did the Walkers which was the perfect moment for me to grab a stick and nock the Walkers out. Well, that's what I tried to. I don't really think you can nock out the Dead.
The first Walker reacted on the hit. He turned around and looked with the leftovers of his eyes to my face. Without saying a word, I hold the pointy stick with both my hands and slammed it against its face. He fell on the ground, but immediately started crawling up again. I didn't let him and poked the pointy stick right in his brains. One officially dead, two more to go. I now had the attention of both the Walkers and they slowly were getting closer. With all the girl power I had, I pulled the stick out of the first Walker and got myself ready to hit one again. This one wasn't that easy to handle, he didn't even fall after I hit him. With the pointy side of the stick, I pushed him a bit backwards to earn some more time. Unfortunately the Walker wasn't planning on giving up so he just kept walking which made the stick go right through his belly. I immediately let go of the stick that the Walker had taken over, and I quickly try to find anything else. Nothing but soft leafs and little animals. I decided to go for the dangerous way and fought with my bare hands. One punch on the eye, one hit on his stomach. The Walker flew backwards and landed against the tree. I was impressed by all the power I had in me, but that only lasted for a second. The third Walker was now grabbing me with his hands and he was trying to push me against to ground. With all my power I tried to get that thing off of me, but nothing worked. I smashed him in the head, and pushed him off of me. My left hand searched for any item that could help me while my right hand hold the distance between the Walker's mouth and my face. I felt a cold stone, which was just a bit heavy. My grip tightened and I immediately slammed the stone into its face. He fell to the right, which now left me on top. With two hands I knocked the stone on the Walker's face and made blood explode all over me. I knew he was officially dead now, so I didn't think it was necessary to keep hitting it. With a sigh of relieve I sat on the Walker's nap for a few seconds. My heart was raising, and I tried to take a deep breath before I felt a cold hand on my shoulder. I turned around, imagining to see the face of the guy, relieved but thankful. Instead I saw the last Walker. With a soft scream I pushed myself up and began slamming into the Walker. This Walker was even stronger than the one before. He pushed me against the tree and his face slowly came closer. I couldn't stop it, I was caught. My eyes were closed, and I waited for the bite to come but instead the moaning of the Walker stopped.
I frowned before I opened my eyes. The Walker lay on the ground, its eyes were closed and he had a pointy stick in his face. My eyes scrolled through the area but I couldn't find anyone who could've helped me with this. ''Can you untie me, please?'' I heard a voice above me. Surprisingly the guy who yelled for help didn't run away but stayed in the tree. He was tied to the tree and could only move his left hand a bit. Still in shock, I reached for the guy and untied his feet. After that I climbed up in the tree and untied his other hand. We didn't spoke in the time I was untying him. When we finally stood on the ground, the guy looked at me. His face told me he was exhausted and shocked. At the same time he looked relieved and even had a small grin on his face. ''Thank you so much.'' He said and nodded. While I wiped a tooth of one of the Walkers away I nodded to him. ''Thanks to you too.'' I said and looked at the Walkers who were now laying on the ground. My ears caught the soft moaning of Walkers who were coming closer. ''We need to go, now.'' I told the guy and assumed he was coming with me. ''Where are we going?'' He asked me and followed me. My eyes looked right into his and then I looked at the sky. ''Somewhere safe.''
