''You don't have to go with me, you know?'' I tried to say it as friendly as possible. ''I do. You still need some recovering.'' Joe answered as we walked on the street. No Walkers, no moans. For a second it felt like Joe and I were the only people left on the planet, like there weren't Walkers. ''Did Zoe annoy you?'' Joe asked me as he bit on his nails. ''What do you mean?'' I asked him confused. ''She can be a bit... Pushy sometimes.'' He answered after thinking for the right word. ''She's really good to talk to, actually.'' I replied and scratched my arm for a few seconds. ''Let's go there.'' I cut off the conversation and pointed at a little supermarket. It looked almost haunted, but we just had to go there.

''Clear.'' I said after half an hour clearing the supermarket. ''Great, now let's grab some stuff and get out of here.'' He said like we were in a hurry. The supermarket was still full of food, but lots of things were expired. I grabbed a little basket and made my way through the store. ''I always wanted to go shopping without having to pay.'' I chuckled to myself and fill the basket with tins of food. Bottles of water, some chewing gum and toilet paper. Then I came at the lady section and sighed relieved. Having your period is pretty shit when you're out of sanitary pads. I figured to just throw a bit in, and continued the walk. Joe was packing some medicine, and he was fully concentrated on reading what they were for while I walked to the sweets. ''Expired, expired and expired.'' I sighed annoyed and got up for my knees.

As we walked out of the shop, I handed over the basket to Joe as he insisted on carrying it. I looked at the basket and looked to the items Joe had grabbed. ''Stoestaugen.'' Joe said and waited for my reaction. ''What?'' I said confused and raised an eyebrow. ''Stoestaugen.'' He said again and smiled widely. ''You're not making any sense.'' I laughed and poked him. ''Isn't Stoestaugen Dutch for vacuum cleaner?'' Joe asked confused yet disappointed. ''Stoestaugen?'' I laughed and tried to breath but I was laughing a bit too hysterical. ''It's stofzuiger, you idiot.'' I calmed down just a bit and looked at Joe who tried to repeat the word. ''Stof.'' I slowly said. ''Stoef.'' Joe repeated and I nodded. ''Zuiger.'' ''Zauger.'' I clapped my hands and gave him a little applause as he proudly looked around. At that moment I felt a rain drip crashing onto my head. My eyes scrolled to the sky and I noticed it was about to rain. ''Great.'' I sighed and pointed to the sky for Joe.

Even though we knew a storm was to begin, we didn't speed up. We kept walking and talking. The rain started and I immediately began to shake. ''Come here.'' Joe said and pulled me closer to him as he wrapped his arm around me. In the position we arrived the café. We knocked on the door, since it was locked, and a few seconds later Zoe appeared in the door. As she saw us, she grabbed the basket with supplies out of our hands and closed the door again. ''Zoe, let us in!'' Joe yelled and knocked on the door again but Zoe didn't open. ''Not before you two admit you have feelings for each other!'' She screamed and locked the door again.

I chuckled and looked at Joe, who looked really annoyed. ''Pushy she is.'' I said as I sat down, my back against the wall. ''She'll open the door in probably half an hour.'' Joe sighed and sat down besides me. ''We'll just have to wait for a while.'' He whispered. I closed my eyes for a second, and I felt my head bump into Joe's shoulder.

''Deanne, wake up.'' A voice woke me up and the first thing I noticed was that I was inside of the café now. ''We're going to never have I ever, care to join us?'' Zoe asked me which made me frown. The world was going down, but these people still wanted to make the best out of it. ''Erm, yeah. Sure.'' I answered and sat on the ground in-between Jim and Zoe. ''Joe brought some whiskey so let's just begin.'' Zoe simply explained and the game began.

''Never have I ever stole something.'' No one drunk.

''Never have I ever had a one night stand.'' Only Marcus drank.

''Never have I ever had a driving license.'' Everyone but Alfie and I drank.

The game continued more rounds, and I lost the count after 4 drinks. I never really drunk alcohol, so the tiniest bit would make me drunk. Things felt crazy. It felt like I couldn't control my body.

''You're turn, Deanne.'' Alfie giggled. I giggled with him and tried to think of something. My mind didn't want to work with me, so I just spat something out. I didn't even hear what I said, but it caused the others to laugh so I just laughed with them.

A drunk evening got all of us pretty loud. Sure thing we attracted Walkers but we didn't care at that moment. We needed to get to the HQ soon enough anyways.

At the end of the game, I tried to get up but immediately fell down on the ground. ''Careful.'' Joe spoke. He didn't look drunk, I didn't remember he drank even once actually. Instead of helping me to one of the couches, he picked me up and brought me upstairs. ''There you go.'' He laid my down on a bed and smiled. ''Joe.'' I yawned and signed him to come closer. He sat down besides me and looked at me. ''I have a secret.'' I whispered giggling. ''I like you very much.'' I said but didn't wait for a response. Joe looked concerned or just confused. ''You're drunk.'' He answered and got up. ''I am drunk.'' I repeated after him and giggled.
