"Can you believe Beau and Eli just got engaged? They have only been dating for a few weeks" Nathan said while we walked into our shared apartment. I looked at my adorable boyfriend while taking off my jacket before taking his jacket from his hands.

"It's crazy but they are in love," I told him while making my way to the kitchen and grabbing myself a drink. Nathan walked over to me before leaning on the counter.

"Do you think that will be us?" He asked suddenly and I glanced at him. He held this look of hope and I could tell he was hinting. I wish to tell him yes but I didn't want to ruin the moment I ask him. I really shouldn't have let Beau ask Eli. It was going to be our time. Hopefully, I can ask him soon.

"What did you think about the restaurant?" I decided to shift the conversation. I couldn't let this conversation continue, I didn't want Nathan to know about my plans before the time. This entire conversation would have been avoided if Beau didn't completely step on my plans. I glanced at Nathan and his expression faltered. It broke my heart to see.

"The restaurant was nice. I loved the way you decided to decorate the entrance and the entire vibe was amazing. You really did a good job, people are going to love it" He stated with a smile but I could tell he was hiding his sadness well. I sighed before walking over to my adorably soft boyfriend and wrapping my arms around his waist.

"I hope they will love it as much as I love you" I whispered in his ear while softly kissing the spot below his ear. Nathan giggled before leaning into me.

"You know not many people have named restaurants after me," He said casually and I looked at him. He said many, as in I am not the only one. I pulled away from my boyfriend before looking at him with shock. Nathan chuckled.

"Were there others?" I asked and he shook his head before wrapping his arms around my neck.

"No you're the only one, I was just teasing. It still astonishes me that you would name a restaurant after me in the first place" He stated before kissing me softly and I grinned while pulling him closer.

"You are my biggest inspiration, Nathan. I wouldn't even have a New York restaurant right now if it wasn't for our love" I told him and he snorted before rolling his eyes. Nathan finds my simping to be both really annoying and entertaining. What can I say, I am deeply in love with this man.

"Should we head to bed?" He suggested while making a suggestive look with his eyebrows and I chuckled before completely agreeing. We may not have gotten engaged today but the night is ending the same way I planned. We quickly headed to our bedroom with the wild thoughts that had entered our minds. Tonight will be fun.

Proposing to Nathan seemed to be a lost cause. I had tried, many times but I believe the universe does not want us to be married. After the double dinner also known as Eli and Beau's engagement, I officially started my vacation. It was great. I would spend my days with my adorable boyfriend and I even had time to get into some new hobbies. I had never taken time for myself before and it felt nice. I even had time to think about new restaurant ideas for when I get back out there. I had decided that I wanted to expand the business even further. I started making plans for expanding outside of the country. I could spend hours going over my ideas for my first-ever restaurant in Italy and most anywhere in Europe. I learned they have different requirements and I quickly started making future plans. Those weren't the only future plans I tried making. Nathan and I would spend a lot of time together. He only had a few appointments in the new year, his work was always more popular in the springtime. We spent our days cuddling on the couch and barely leaving the apartment. It was nice. Nathan had continued his questioning from the night of my cousin's engagement. He kept hinting at wanting to get married. I wanted to marry Nathan badly. I kept trying to propose to him. We went out a few times for date night but the timing was never right. The places were either too crowded, too noisy, or like last week, another couple was getting engaged at the same restaurant. I swear the universe doesn't want us married. I was going to try again this week. It had been almost two months since the last time I really did try, the last engagement, and I felt it was time. It was perfect, we were going out for Valentine's day. Valentine's day is the best time to ask the man you love to marry you, nothing could go wrong. I realized I spoke too soon when Everly and Michael invited us out for Valentine's day. What was once plans alone with my boyfriend was now a double date. At least this time the other couple won't completely steal my thunder and get engaged. Tonight was the night. Nathan and I were leaving our apartment to meet the married couple at my restaurant. I had not been here for the last two months since I don't normally go back to my restaurants, plus Nathan and I like trying new places in the city each date night. The married couple chose this as our date location since Everly had wished to see the restaurant that shared her family's last name and well Michael had asked me if he could review my restaurant. I had agreed since he had done it a few times before and so we met up at my restaurant for the evening.

"This place is amazing Owen!" Everly exclaimed once she looked over the restaurant in its entirety. I smiled at her while going over to my chefs. I had told him when I hired him that I would not be stopping by often and yet here I am two months later. He must have been concerned about his job performance. I quickly reassured Anthony before going back over to the table they had picked out. We were eating near the windows tonight. I noticed that my mood was not as cheery as it normally was tonight. My plans were shot when the married couple came into town this week and decided we should spend this day together. I would once again not be able to ask Nathan to marry me. I was getting frustrated at this fact. I know that it had only been about two months since I had originally planned but it's two months too long. I wanted to marry him since the day I met him and now all this waiting is driving me crazy. Nathan looked at me before placing his hand on mine. I think he noticed my strange tense vibe and was trying to calm me down. I smiled before lifting his hand and giving it a little kiss.

"You two are so cute! When are we getting a Nowen wedding?" Everly exclaimed once she saw me kiss Nathan's hand and I couldn't help but ask myself the same freaking question. When will we have a wedding if I can never freaking propose?! I decided not to voice my angry opinion and simply smiled at the nice woman who was only just asking a simple question. It was not her fault that the topic angered me.

"Babe let's not talk about that right now. We should tell them our news" Michael thankfully helped me out by changing the subject and I noted that I really need to thank him later. I wasn't bothered by the topic of our impending engagement, well that's actually a lie I am bothered by it. But I was not bothered with the subject itself, I was bothered with myself. I should have never let Beau take over what was supposed to be my engagement party and I also should not have agreed to this dinneUs us not being engaged was my fault entirely.

"Oh yes, our news! Michael and I are trying to get pregnant!" Everly exclaimed and the excitement at the table seemed to grow. Nathan gasped in shock while a big smile graced his face. This was exciting news!

"You guys are going to have a baby! Omg" The adorable boy next to me exclaimed before going over to his sister and giving her an excited hug. This was incredible news. I knew that Michael had always wanted to start a family and knowing Everly's personality, she has probably always wanted a baby too. This was amazing for them and I was happy. My happiness didn't really seem to show simply because now any engagement plans would be overshadowed by this baby thing. I guess I would have to wait even longer before I asked my adorable and very patient boyfriend to be my husband. I quickly decided to stop being in such a sour mood and quickly joined the couple in celebrating this amazing news. It was a good night and it was a good Valentine's day overall at least.

I really do feel bad for Owen. I am not sure why I am stomping my own favorite ship from getting themselves engaged but I am and you all have to live with it. Anyway, Everly and Michael are trying for a baby! I am excited for them. The first couple in this book finally starts a family, what could be more exciting? Plus Owen is thinking about expanding his business, that's always fun. I do wonder what will happen next. I hope you all enjoyed this chapter.
