"No! I'm telling you, Avery has always been like that." I explained to Trey who wondered if Avery and Kayla always behaved the way they did as we leaned against a parked car, "She just tried to play off everything she said as a joke when she was on the Sea Lions so no one would say anything. Like the moment she wasn't appointed captain she tried telling us all that she joined the Sea Lions as a practical joke but no one ever believed her. But, Kayla? Yeah she just came out of the blue to be honest, I don't even remember her being around. If I'm not mistaken, Sky mentioned that she used to be in the Chess Club with Christina..."

"Weird..." Trey replied with a laugh before glancing at the unknown Chevrolet Impala Lowrider that started to pull into the parking spot right beside Evan's car. Two males appeared to get out of it, both dressed quite similarly with the lack of the color on their shirt that one seemed to have as the other had a green colored one. From afar, the other very few differences between the two just included that one appeared to be bald and somewhat taller than the other by an inch who instead had a firmer build.

"Victor!" Gloria squealed pulling the taller one out of the two into a hug. She let him go and placed a hand on her hip as she eyed the other that stood beside Victor with a mischievous grin, "And I see that you brought Joshua."

Joshua tilted his head to the side as he rolled his eyes in response, "Hey Gloria."

She smiled at him wider than earlier before turning back to Victor, "Aw. You came all the way out here to see me?"

"You're my chulita. I'd follow you anywhere." Victor pressed a chaste kiss on Gloria's cheek who then turned to look at us. Victor took the chance to ask her a question that left Sky and I a bit baffled for a moment, "Can you spot me a twenty for gas?"

"No!"

"Damn." Victor sighed looking at the floor in defeat before glancing towards where Sky and I stood. Sky appeared more afraid than I did, and I wouldn't be surprised if it was obvious by the way her head hid behind my shoulder and her hand holding my wrist tightly fearful to let go, "Yo, who's this?"

"I'm Sky. It's a pleasure to meet you..." Sky introduced with a small timid smile as she continued to stare at the ground in front of her.

"Oh, so you're Lina and Vanessa's sister from another mister." Victor asked genuinely curious as Sky started to ponder the idea with a brighter smile nodding before she responded, "I haven't thought of it like that."

"No, no. Not really." Lina answered shaking her head repeatedly at the same time as Sky making me glance at her as she looked down after Lina's response.

Taking the attention off of them, I decided to greet myself, "I'm Vanessa." I threw a small smile towards Joshua after noticing him staring for a while, causing for him to reciprocate the action ignoring Gloria and Lina's knowing glances. Trey nudged my arm a bit not so discreetly causing me to laugh as I started to nudge her back so she could stop.

After a moment, it seemed like something that appeared like a moment of realization flashed through Victor's mind because he was grinning broadly after I introduced myself as he nodded extremely slow. "Oh! So, you're that Vanessa?" He grabbed a hold of the male next to him and pushed him forward, "This is Joshua."

Joshua turned to look at Victor with an embarrassed expression as the taller male smiled at him in response. "I seriously could've just introduced myself without your help..." Joshua muttered with a sigh before turning towards where I stood, "Hey."

"Hi."

We continued to stare at one another obviously not knowing what else to say, but Trey decided to thankfully switched the conversation to another topic as she looked towards Evan and his friends who were staring at where we all stood, "Hey, Lina. Who is that dude over there that's been checking you out?"

"Whatever. He's just some guy." Lina lied hiding the smile that started to appear on her face as she looked at Evan.

"Yeah right." I laughed struggling to stifle it when she glanced back to throw me a glare playfully pushing my arm. "Someone's in love!"

Lina gasped and flicked my forehead as I continued to giggle at the blush that appeared on her face, "I'm not in love, stop it!"

"Evan's like, the most popular guy in school." Sky added as recalled the information that she believed everyone should know since it's factual for this school.

"Please, I'm not impressed." Lina said, continuing to lie as Gloria gave her a look.

Victor pointed towards where Evan stood and looked back at Lina, "Lina. If Malibu Ken is sweating you, I can put the fool in check, real quick." He began to punch the air, just as Gloria and Lina gave him words of encouragement as he started to walk towards Evan.

We watched Evan and Victor started talking, it seemed as if they got along. I saw no other point to watching them converse, so I headed into the limo without another word placing my bag to the side just as someone appeared at the window.

"Hey," Joshua started as I glanced at him, "I wanted to ask this earlier, but Victor made the situation feel awkward for me. Is it cool if I get your number?"

Don't get it wrong, Joshua wasn't the first guy to ask for my number. He just was the most awkward one though from how fast he did it, but I would admit that it makes sense. Victor pushing him forward for no reason for us both was just weird. But he was extremely attractive, so it was a win to me either way.

"Sure." I smiled at him and took out my phone to hand it to him so he could text himself. Once he did, I saved his number while he did the same as he looked up from the device and smiled at me.

"Joshua!" Victor exclaimed turning our attention to him as his car pulled up beside the limo with Gloria seated beside him wearing a large smile, "Let's roll out."
