Spirit Championship. Day 2. Finals. Emotions were at an all around high, especially since E News was here and it was a proud moment to listen in as the reporter happened to say that our team was the one that everyone else competing should watch out for since we were now known to be reckoned with.
Watching the Jaguars was interesting, I surprising liked their song choices as it continued to progress but the more I actually looked into it, the more I started to realize that the routine wasn't all that it seemed to be. I feel like it was more hyped than it should have been as I looked at it. Maybe, I'm just being biased but who cares.
"You see all those people out there?" Lina began as we all listened in to the various people in the crowd who cheered us on. She was attempting to push us into a much more boosted level of confidence for ourselves before we had to go on which would be soon. "They believe in us. This is the Spirit Championship, and I ain't leaving without a bracelet. Y'all down?"
"Yeah!" We all cheered in unison just as Gloria and Lina high-five with Trey nudging their hips with her own. I smiled at them before being Christina and Sky in for a small but earnest hug. Christina released her hold on me before moving to her position while Sky tightened her hold for a moment. I rubbed her arm as she let go before we shared small smiles and following after the others on the team as the Dream Team was now called to the mat to begin our performance for finals.
Running out to the mat, I turned to Fred and George right before the song started with a small grin. "You two better catch me."
"Maybe we will..." Fred started slowly as he shrugged with a small bit prominent smirk. He turned to his brother who appeared to have the same reaction over him.
"Or maybe we won't." George then finished for him as they both laughed when I gave them a look. I ruffled both of their hairs before pinching their cheeks causing them to poke my side as we stopped when Lina glanced at us before the performance was soon set to start for us.
The song started and everyone, including both the team and the crowd but excluding the Jaguars, were all extremely into the music. Nearing the end, I was swaying my hips in unison with Luna before making my way towards the twins. They threw me into the air and the performance ended with Chrisitna, Sky and I all ending our stunts.
"Told you that we'd probably catch you..." Fred started with a nudge to my shoulder as I pushed him off, laughing loudly.
George nodded as moved to stand beside Fred as they both stared down at me with equally similar expressions, "And you had the audacity to doubt us.... So cruel Vanessa... so cruel."
"It feels like we're not appreciated at all..." Fred continued as he placed a hand over his chest while I rolled my eyes crossing my arms over my chest. "I'm hurt Georgie..."
George nodded in agreement as he tried to suppress his growing smile, "So am I Freddie."
"You two are dorks!" I laughed following after Gloria who tried to get our attention so we could line up for the judges to make a decision on who would be winning the competition.
"Wow, those were two outstanding performances. Now let's see what the judges have decided. It's going to be a tough choice and we can all understand that it'll be very difficult to come to a decision with how phenomenally amazing both teams did for us today."
Waiting for the judges to decide who won had almost everyone around anxious. I could even see Victor squeezing Joshua's arm in anticipation while he tried to pry him off causing me to laugh until I felt Gloria grab my own arm as well and doing the exact same.
"It's official. Now the best of the best are..." The judge started as she took a dramatic pause. Everyone started to cheer out for her to hurry as she finally started to tell us who had won, "The Malibu Dream Team!"
Squealing in delight, I grabbed Luna and hugged her before pulling the rest of the team into individuals hugs as well. Feeling arms around my waist, I turned and squealed some more when I noticed that it was Joshua who started to spin me around with an excited grin placed on his features as well. He had a poster thrown to the side and I was able to see the specific "Go Dream Team" with Victor and his names signed at the bottom of it. It was the same poster that I had seen earlier being held up in the air while we performed.
"You did it baby!" He exclaimed causing me to laugh. He started to leave small kisses all around my face as I continued to giggle unaware of Avery and Kayla watching us with heated stares. "You did so great! The team was amazing but you were so spectacular, I felt like I couldn't take my eyes off you."
"Of course, we won!" I shouted in response as the crowd continued to cheer for the win of the Malibu Dream Team. He pecked my lips shortly as I hugged him once more, "But you are so cheesy..." Joshua shrugged and continued to press small kisses over me before I started to feel Trey pull me towards Sky, Christina, Gloria and Lina mentioning that we were going to take a picture causing Joshua to laugh as I looked back at him for help.
"We're All Stars Champions!" Sky screamed once we were done taking the picture. I pulled her into a hug while laughing loudly when we felt soon Lina join the hug.
