"I don't see any reason as to why we're at the park it seems weird especially if we aren't doing anything. If I wanted to see a bunch of children play in a playground then I could've just turned on Law and Order, I'm sure they would've shown exactly what I'm looking at right now which is a group of people looking suspicious as we do right now." I complained as I continued to ramble from my seat on the bench beside Gloria who's been grinning since Victor drove us here. Even the others were here but Evan and Lina apparently had to go do something that required Sky, Victor, Christina and Treys assistance.
Gloria shushed me with a knowing smile as she pressed a finger over my lips to keep me quiet for the moment. "Just a few more minutes."
Glancing at her confused, I rose a brow and moved her finger off of my lips before speaking, "Okay Glor. What the hell are you guys doing that I couldn't be let in on?"
Nothing was said since the sound of light music was heard in the background, causing Gloria to squeal and for me to look around confused. She pulled me up and led me to a walkway where each one of my friends held a single rose. I looked back confused before Gloria pushed me gently and urged me to walk down the pathway as I did so confused, grasping each rose held out for me.
Taking the last rose out of Victor's hand who was grinning with a knowing look he gestured his head to the right where Joshua stood with a huge sign. The words "Prom?" was written on it and I could see a few people looking at where we stood aside from our friends possibly trying to see what the commotion was about. Even some of the kids playing on the playground stopped to look since the music had caught their attention at this point.
"Hi gorgeous," Joshua greeted with a smug expression as he watched as I started to step closer to him a bit hesitant out of shyness, "What do you say Vanessa? Do you wanna go to prom with me?"
"I guess..." I responded with a fake sigh of despair before laughing when he gave me a hug as he knew that I had been teasing with the way I responded. The others ran towards us before Sky threw me a knowing look.
Sky nudged me with a knowing look in her eyes, "And you thought grand gestures sucked."
All I did was flip her off in response as Lina started to laugh loudly at the offended expression Sky seemed to wear on her features.

At last, it was prom night and I had been getting ready in my bedroom with Sky right now. I had just put on my dress while Sky was touching up her makeup from the vanity beside me as she continued to admire the hairstyle that she was going to be wearing for the night. Lina and Gloria were getting ready together in Lina's room while Trey and Christina were in Sky's room.
"I'm happy with the way everything turned out..." Sky admitted as I turned to her letting a grin show.
I nodded and moved over to put a hand over her shoulder as I stated, "Yeah me too. We had a few moments where it almost became a major shit show but it all came out great." Sky moved her hand to touch the one that I had placed over her shoulder and squeezed it causing us both to smile before we directed our attention elsewhere instead.
Isabel's voice had snapped us both out of our thoughts when she spoke from downstairs, "Vanessa! Joshua is here." I turned to Sky and squeezed her shoulder once more with a small grin in farewell before beginning to walk out of the room. Each of us were going to arrive separately since we all wanted to be picked up by our dates and meet altogether at prom.
Making my way downstairs, I smiled at the sight of Joshua and Henry conversating. Noticing my presence, Henry called for Isabel to grab the camera while Joshua stood in the same spot almost as if he was stunned for a moment. I walked towards my boyfriend before speaking with a teasing tone emitting from me, "Don't you look so handsome!"
Joshua, seeming a bit dazed as he stared at my appearance but he still responded with a knowing smile, "Of course I do." He pretended to flip some hair over his shoulder as I laughed softly before he continued to talk seeming sincere instead of playful, "You know Vanessa you are seriously the most beautiful girl that I have ever seen and I'm so grateful that you've given me a chance."
I reached out to hold onto his hand before he cleared his throat, "I actually got you a corsage... Gloria told Victor about it and we both were confused so she had to explain the importance of it to me too." He turned slightly to reach into his pocket where he pulled out a small box before handing it to me.
Pulling the box closer to me, I opened it slowly to take a look at the corsage that withheld a white ribbon with an Ivory Rose flower. It was one of my favorites, I remember when Joshua and I took a walk outside of the Boys & Girls Club in East L.A. and I showed him the flower that resided beside the building.
"All right! Let's take these pictures!" Isabel exclaimed excited as Henry soon brought out his own camera making Joshua pull me closer so we could pose for a few pictures, "Okay now I need you to say... 'I'm with stupid'!"
