- Quid Pro Woe -
1x6Wednesday has been gone for hours and to say Vada is worried is an understatement. Enid is sitting at her desk telling her blog all about the latest gossip.
"Vada. I need you to call off your date with Tyler." Wednesday burst in the room and looks at the girl.
"Excuse me?" Vada asks as she looked up from brushing her hair. "No. I've been waiting since Saturday for this."
"It's important. I need your help. The Mayor was killed today after leaving the old Gates' house and I'm gonna go explore it." Wednesday informs.
"Didn't Weems take away your off campus privileges?" Enid turns.
"How did you know that?" Wednesday asks in confusion.
"I need the tea for my blog. You know that, Wens." Enid smiles and turns back to her blog and continued to type.
Ms Thornhill walks in right then as if on cue. "Hello girls." She says happily.
Wednesday looks up from her typewriter. "You can tell the warden im still in my cell."
"Principal Weems only wants you to be safe." Thornhill says softly before looking at the girls work. "How goes the novel?"
"Viper's investigation has been thwarted on several fronts but she's plotting her next course of action."
"How intriguing. I saw this one my bookshelf and thought of you." Thornhill handed over a book called Frankenstein. "Well, I think it's very smart that we're focusing on literary monsters, and leaving whatever real one's might be out there to the authorities."
"No man chooses evil because it is evil. He only mistakes it for happiness, the good he seeks. Mary Shelley wrote that line to describe people like Weems who do bad things under the guise of protecting the greater good." Wednesday says simply.
"Look, I don't need your pity. I have a mother and therapist. That's enough for me." Wednesday hands the book back to her.
Vada glances over before looking away.
Thornhill takes the book and turns, looking at Vada. "How have you been, Vada?"
Vada looks at her through the mirror as she brushes her hair. "Fine. You?"
"I've been okay. Have you been working on that project?" She asks.
Vada looks at the rose, half alive but half of it still drooping sadly. "I think i've almost got it figured out." She nods.
Thornhill smiles softly. "Good. I'll see you around, soon." She says before leaving.
Vada looks back at Wednesday before looking away again. She seems to be having an off day.
"I need you to call Tyler. Tell him to pick us up outside the Nevermore gates at 8pm sharp." Wednesday says as she continues to type.
"I'm sorry, did you miss the part where I said no? I'm going on my date and I am going to have a nice time." Vada insists.
But somehow, here she is, sitting in the passenger seat on Tyler's car as Wednesday and Enid sit in the back, all three girls wearing their snoods. Some sort of pop song plays quietly as Tyler awkwardly drives.
