Coffee Book Club Parents Edition

Tam was finishing up his coffee as he continued typing on his laptop. His hell week is almost over, and he was glad to see the end of it. He decided go back to the office for tomorrow so he was just wrapping up the paperwork that he did not want to bring back to the office when he heard a knock on the door.

'Come in,' He replied.

'Luk? Are you busy?' Khun Tip asked.

'Not really. I am just finishing up here.' He replied.

'Are you going back to the office today?' His mother asked.

'No, but tomorrow I will start going back to the office already.' He answered.

'Oh okay, do you need anything? I cooked and prepared your lunch for you. You can just heat it before you eat, right? You remember how to use the stove for heating your food, I hope.' She teased him.

'Mae!! I know how to use the stove, okay?' He protested.

His mother laughed but nodded, 'Okay, I just wanted to know if you need anything before we leave.'

'Leave? Why? Where are you going? Who are you going with?' Tam asked continuously.

'Calm down, luk! Go easy on those questions. We are just going to the Supasun-Tays for lunch.' Khun Tip told him. 'Khun Tee and Khun Cha invited us over.'

'Oh, Kam and his parents are back already?' Tam said excitedly. 'Maybe I can come over to visit Kammy later after work is done.'

'Yes, they are back and no, you cannot.' His mother said. She walked closer to his table.

Tam looked at his mother surprised. 'What do you mean, mae?'

'Kam is not at their house at the moment; Khun Tee said that he and his sister were going to practice water surfing. She said that Kam wanted his elder sister to learn it.'

'Oh.' Tam said.

'Why, luk?' She asked.

'Nothing, mae. I just wanted to spend some time with Kam. I missed him so much.' Tam poutingly replied.

'It is okay, luk.' She patted him on the shoulder, 'You can spend time with Kam and your friends when they come back, I am sure.'

Tam nodded his agreement even though he didn't really agree with that idea. He really wanted to spend some time with Kam. Khun Tip patted Tam's shoulder once more and she walked to the door but before she can exit the room Tam called her again.

'I may go and see Siri later and I will be dining with her.' He told his mother when she turned at him and nodded.

He sighed loudly when his mom had left his room and proceeded to work on his laptop.

Khun Tip blew air out of her lips as she closed her son's door. She walked to the living room where Khun Det was waiting for her. Her husband immediately stood up as soon as he saw.

'Well?' He looked at his wife expectantly.

She patted his hand and said, 'I will tell you all about it later.'

'Okay.' He agreed. As he led her outside their door, they saw Khun Soon and Pa'Tu sitting by the front swings waiting for them. They both stood up and nodded at both of them. They all started walking towards the direction of the Supasun-Tay's house.
