Tam slowly woke up feeling so cold. He didn't know why his room would be this cold. He slowly opened his eyes and saw an unfamiliar ceiling, what the hell? Where was he? He slowly looked around and was surprised to see someone was sleeping beside him facing away from him. He rubbed his eyes and turned to the bedside bunny clock. It was 11:45pm. Seeing the clock, he realized that he was in Kam's room. He moved slowly and tried to sit up without disturbing Kam. He remembered that Kam cooked him dinner and had allowed him to sleep here. He wondered if Dao had already returned, he recalled about Dao being on a date with her boyfriend.
He looked at Kam who was sleeping peacefully covered only in a very thin blanket. He laughed softly when he realized that Kam was sleeping above the duvet, when he recalled why the reason he snorted softly. He really can't believe how shy he was after being a model, he sure knows that models can usually dress and undress anywhere.
He inched closer to Kam, not wanting to disturb him. He looked at every inch of Kam's face. He realized that he was almost at the edge of the bed; he worried that any slight movement he might actually fall off the bed. He thought of moving him closer to the middle, but he can't decide how to go on about it. He remembered that Kam had always been a heavy sleeper, if he was already asleep, not even an earthquake can wake him up.
So, he lifted one of his arms and places it on Kam's shoulders to gently pull him into the middle of the bed, but he suddenly turned that moment, and Kam ended up lying on his arm. Tam bit his lip and grimaced, he slowly tried to move him a little further but Kam in his sleep scooted even closer.
He looked down at Kam's sleeping face; he decided that he didn't want to disturb him, so he just scooted down and made himself comfortable, so comfortable that he fell asleep immediately.
The next time, Tam opened his eyes; the sun's warmth woke him up. He noticed that he was alone in the bed. He looked at his arm and did not find his watch; he turned to the bedside drawer and saw that it was 7:45 in the morning.
He sat up and looked around, he realized that Kam's room didn't change much, except or the colours of the curtains, it was exactly the same as the last time he was here. He also saw his watch on the side bureau along with the note written in Kam's very neat handwriting.
Phi Tam,
Khun Soon brought you clothes to change in. I sent a message to Khun Mae that you were here last night. Take a shower and then come down for breakfast. I am sorry I didn't wake you up. You look so tired, so I just let you sleep some more. I forgot that you got work, my bad.
Kam the Cute
Tam smiled to himself. He bet that it was intentional. Kam was naughty like that. Tam picked up the clothes that was folded neatly at the edge of the bed. He stood up and opened the cabinet to search for a towel to use. He couldn't find one, so he entered the bathroom and saw the towel folded neatly with a note on top of it.
Stop messing up my cabinet. This is the towel you need.
Tam laughed out loud. Kam had always been very tidy, and he hated people messing up his things especially his clothes in his cabinet. He took a shower and then towelled himself dry and wore the clothes that his uncle brought for him.
Tam came out of the bathroom and looked for a comb to fix his hair. He found one on Kam's dresser. His hair was still a bit wet, so he towelled it some more, as he was doing this, he walked around Kam's room and he saw an array of photos adorning the long drawer on the left side of the room, close to the window.
Curiously, he went to look at the photos, he smiled when he saw a photo of him and Kam, the first time he came from the hospital. The second photo was a family photo with Dao and their parents. His smile grew even wider when he saw a photo of them when they were kids looking out the window of the tree house. Another photo of Kam and a foreign fellow sitting at table under a tree looks like it was taken in Oxford. The last photo was a group picture, looks like a class picture or something. It was odd though, he thought he saw someone that looked like Sak in the photo but that was impossible. Sak never went to London to visit Kam. He would have known; they would have told him. And if they did tell him, he would have been in London in a heartbeat. He was about to pick up the photo to look closer just to make sure, when he heard a splash and lots of laughter.
