Legolas shook his head.
„No. my heart is okay."
„But-"
„And even if it wasn't, you couldn't be of any help. You have-"
Legolas quickly shut his mouth. Staring at Aragorn, hoping he didn't notice.
„I have what?"
„N..nothing.."
„Legolas."
The elven prince stood up and just walked away.
*oh my god why did I say that?! Now he surely knows whats up!*
Aragorn was just left there, having to think on his own now.

As Legolas walked away, searching for his dwarf friend in the small woods, he just hoped that Aragorn would just let it go.
After a while, Legolas found the dwarf and helped him carry a few pieces of wood back to the little camp.
Aragorn tried and searched for Legolas' eyes, but the elv just avoided him once again.
Night came and morning followed, Legolas being the first waking up.
He scrunched up his nose, smelling Gimli and even Aragorn.
Legolas always thought Aragorn smelled good, but neither of them has had a quick bath in the past few days.
Even the elv himself felt a bit dirty.
He stood up and saw a small lake, not far away. Legolas let his gaze run over his friends, noticing they were still wandering in their dream lands.
He used this opportunity to go and clean himself up alone.
He slowly took off his cloak, letting it fall to the ground, ears twitching at the small sound it made. When he finally was naked (except for boxers) he slowly stepped in the water, a relieved sigh escaping his soft lips as the dirt was washed away. He walked to a little waterfall, showering himself under it.
His lower body disappeared in the blue water.
He washed his beloved hair, letting a hand run through it.
The elv smiled and lost himself in his thoughts once again.

Aragorns body appeared in his mind, naked as he was born.
His muscles adorned his beautiful body, making Legolas blush.
His eyes traced down Aragorns body, slowly following his v-line when a voice pulled him out of his thoughts and away from the image "Legolas! You didn't tell us that you were taking a royal bath!"
Gimli shouted.
Legolas just stared at them.
Both of his best friends, Gimli and Aragorn were standing there.
Naked with their pride and joy hanging between their legs.
"Please at least put on boxers.."
Legolas said helplessly.
"Real men don't wear boxers to shower, we gotta get it clean right boys??"
Gimli shouted, jumping in the water causing a little explosion.
Legolas couldn't help but stare at Aragorn, who just laughed and put on a boxer, following the dwarf.
The elv just forced himself to turn away from them both and wanting to quickly end his bath.

That's when he realized that there was a problem. And not just a little problem.
The prince couldn't just step out of the water like he would do normally.
Because Aragorn was there.
And now there was a tent built up in Legolas' boxers, forcing him to stay unseen in the water. He couldn't believe his own body to betray him like that!

Aragorn carefully eyed Legolas' body.
He had his back turned to them, flexing his muscles on his hind body, his shoulders and arms.
Aragorn had to admit, Legolas was built very beautiful.
Just like every elv.

But this one had something special on him. Aragorn didn't know what or how, but in his eyes, Legolas was more than perfect.
Aragorn didn't notice how he burnt holes in his friends back with his eyes, quickly turning away, knowing that Legolas probably sensed it already anyway.
He wanted to step out of the water for a moment, something inside of himself stopping him.
Aragorn looked confused for a moment, then noticing a bulge in his boxers.
His blood shot to his head (and somewhere else) leaving the poor dunedain blushing hard.
How could this happen to him?!

After a long time, Gimli finally decided it was time to eat and got out of the water, dressing himself quickly.
"What's up with you guys? You look so tense" "It's nothing, i'd just like to stay in the water for a bit longer"
Aragorn said, already prepared for the question. "And Legolas? You gave us the cold shoulder since we joined you"
"I don't feel..clean enough"
The elv stammered, already knowing that the others didn't believe him.
"You were cleaner before you took a bath then me after one"
Gimli protested, but letting it go, his hunger winning over him.
Legolas sighed, a bit relieved, but still the main problem was there:

Aragorn.

The bigger one saw the opportunity and decided to use it.
He and Legolas both were staying for a bit, so he could just confront him about the things he said the day before.
"Legolas, i need to talk to you."
"About what?" "About you"
Their eyes met for a short second,
Legolas quickly interrupting it, turning away again.

"Look at me when i'm talking to you."
There was his dominant and strict voice again, sending shivers down Legolas' spine.
He just did as he was told and slowly faced his friend.
Aragorn moved closer to the prince and softly took his hand.
Legolas didn't react, he was just standing there, trying not to move.
"Please Legolas..you can talk to me. Tell me what's bothering you my friend"

Legolas pressed his lips together, his heart breaking a bit everytime Aragorn called him „friend"
But that's what they were.
Nothing less.
Nothing more.

Just..friends.

I don't really know.."
Legolas said. It was only the half truth.
He knew what was wrong, but he didn't know how he just couldn't accept the fact, that Aragorn didn't love him.
How Aragorn didn't feel stronger feelings or anything like that towards him.
Because Aragorn loved Arwen.
And yes, of course she deserved it, yet Legolas felt a bit of hate when thinking about her, wich made him hate himself even more because she could do nothing about it.
He tried to force his tears back but failed.
A sharp pain cut through his chest.

Just like the blade of grass.
It felt horrible.
Legolas felt like he was tortured yet the cuts through his heart never being enough to just let him die.

Aragorn noticed the tears building up in the others eyes, feeling awful seeing his friend like this.
He embraced him into a big hug.
No words were spoken.
There was just two friends, one comforting the other, trying to understand his situation and the other locked up like a iron door, not letting anyone come inside, keeping everything to himself.
Legolas just let himself sink into Aragorns arms, starting to feel warm, even though he couldn't even feel temperature.
He felt safe, like nothing could hurt him now.

Legolas felt loved.
