"How much farther, Graham?"
"Just a little bit now," he told her, glancing up at the building's windows that stood high them as they walked through the small town.
This didn't ease Maria in the slightest. "How far? A mile? Two?"
Graham's eyes were wide as he looked back at the two. "Yeah. Y-yeah. Just a couple."

Graham stooped under the man's arm that was draped over the top of the door. The taller man gazed at Maria, and at that moment, her heart dropped and she audibly gasped.
"Ma! It's Luther!"
Maria's heart pounded. How did he get separated from Robin and the rest, and why was he here- associated with Graham? Was he okay? Was he being held in a hostage-situation?
Luther brought his finger up to him lips in a motion to stay quiet.

"Bring the girl over," Graham told Maria without looking up from turning the scanner on.
Jeanie gripped Maria's hand, who told the girl quietly, "I gotcha. I'm right here." She didn't miss the way Luther watched them, his eyebrows upturned in a saddened look. It was like he knew something they didn't. Apologetic again.
Graham placed a hand on Jeanie's shoulder, turning the girl around and holding her steady. "Alright. You won't feel anything; it'll just beep, okay?" Jeanie took a breath and nodded.
The seconds stretched long until a single beep was heard.
"She's clean," Graham spoke, breathily.
Jeanie smiled up at Maria, who, along with Luther, let out a deep sigh.
"Now... I believe... we had a deal." Graham's voice turned cold.
Suddenly, with a glint in his eye, Graham pounced at the woman, holding onto her pack with an iron grip.
Luther's blurry figure grabbed at Graham's hands, attempting to pry them off, but the smaller man bent to retrieve something between the couch cushions. Swiftly, he cracked the object, a handgun, twice against Luther's head, effectively knocking him off.
