An Apple as Red as Blood - Part 1

Thursday night, April 2

Regina and Henry were having dinner when the doorbell rang. Confused, Regina went to open the door and found Emma. When Regina turned around to check on Henry, he was gone. Looking back to Emma, Regina was meet with some other citizens behind her.

Regina tried to get back inside the house, but Henry was behind her, holding a thick rope and blocking her way.

The mob dragged Regina out to Main Street, where an apple tree very similar to the Mayor's had sprung in the middle of the road. Using the rope Henry had, they tied her to the tree while Regina protested. No one listened to her.

Emma stepped closer, grabbing one of the blackened apples and crushing it in front of Regina, letting the black goo fall to the ground. The apple was rotten to the core.

Suddenly, Emma had a sword in her hands. Regina begged Henry to help her, but he refused. Emma swung the sword, aiming for Regina

Regina woke up abruptly. The dream had shaken her up, so she went to check on Henry. She opened his room's door slightly and looked inside: he was sleeping under the covers. Knowing her son was safe, she went back to sleep.

Unknown to her, it wasn't Henry under the covers, just his pillows. Henry was with Emma in her Bug, driving towards the town line

"Is that all your stuff?" Henry asked, looking to the backseat

"All I need" Emma replied

Henry realized then what Emma was planning when she said they were leaving Storybrooke "Wait, you want to go now? We're leaving now?" he asked worried

"Uh-huh. I'm getting you out of here" his mother confirmed "Away from all this. Away from her"

"No, no. Stop the car!" Henry panicked "You can't leave Storybrooke. You have to break the curse"

"No, I don't" Emma replied "I have to help you"

"But you're a hero" Henry reminded his mom "You can't run"

"Henry, I know it's hard for you to see it, but I'm doing what's best for you" Emma told him "That's what you wanted when you brought me to Storybrooke" she reminded him

"But the curse, you're the only one who can break it" he insisted

"Henry-" Emma tried to argue back, but Henry grabbed the wheel trying to turn the car around "Henry!" Emma shouted

Henry let go of the wheel and Emma tried to keep the car straight, but they ended up in a ditch on the side off the road

"Henry, what where you doing!?" Emma scolded him "You could have gotten us killed!"

"Please! Please don't make me go!" he begged her "We can't go! Everything is here: me, Angie, your parents, your family. Please Emma, they need you. Your family needs you"

Emma sighed. She had gotten so worked up after her trip with August that she hadn't really thought things through. She wanted to leave and take Henry with her, but this wasn't the right way or time, so she decided to drive Henry back home. 

Friday, April 3

Like many other mornings, Angie went to Mary Margaret's and Emma's apartment to have breakfast with them. She knocked on the door and a very worried Mary Margaret answered "Emma, where were- Oh" the teacher cut herself up, seeing who really was at the door "Angie, where's Emma?" she asked, letting her come in
