"A lot of great artists work in their pyjamas. Ernest Hemingway and Oscar Hammerstein both worked standing up because they liked that."

- Julia Cameron, 'Creativity does not have to be "high art."'

A/N:

In her own words from the article: "Sometimes we get a lot further in our art and in our lives when we let ourselves do a little of what comes easily and naturally. If you like to draw horses, stop drawing chairs.". Happiness can be as simple to achieve as that sometimes. How often do you guys find yourselves working in your pyjamas (regardless of the type of work)?

Though, for those who truly wish to be actual artists: there needs to be a balance between using it as a creative outlet and learning/practising applying new knowledge and skill since if you only have it as a hobby you don't need great skill, knowledge and practice. But if you want to be a realised independent artist you can't suppress your natural desire towards exploring a particular subject or idea more than another either since with time it ruins your ability to come up with creative ideas. That's my point of view, take it or leave it, as a real-life artist.
