"But the moon remained silent; it told no stories. All it did was embrace the heavy past with cool, measured detachment. On the moon, there was neither air nor wind. Its vacuum was perfect for preserving memories unscathed. No one could unlock the heart of the moon."

- Haruki Murakami, "1Q84"

A/N:

This poetic quote made me interested in checking out the book and I was surprised to discover what it was actually about. It's still appealing to me, don't get me wrong, but not in the way I expected it to be since it's definitely more connected with George Orwell's "1984", seeing as the title itself is a play on Orwell's - the Japanese number nine has the same pronunciation as the letter 'Q'.

Has anyone read one of the two books? I'm familiar with '1984' and would be happy to share and hear any thoughts of yours or mine, only if you wish of course!
