"Even if I couldn't share the past moment, I was happy in, with someone (have them by my side, do whatever I was doing at the time with them),

I can share the memory of it, happily looking back on it with someone. As a compensation of some sort."

- Rachel Archer

A/N:

Living in the past is something I tend to do a lot even if it wasn't filled with only good things. People like me are known for doing it too much, or focusing too much not on the good things, to the point where it is unhealthy and holds you back from being in the present. So I know I should stop doing it this much, but when it is about recalling happy moments it is less harmful.

I can't help it when I know I can recall some of the better and best moments and tell them, share my happiness in a way, with someone who is close to me. Just describing and imaginatively going back to it is pleasant to me, but revisiting it in the company of a loved one makes it an even better of experience. It means I can show this part of me, reach back into the moment and take a small piece of that happy feeling I felt by myself then and take it with me to the present moment to take delight in it and also give part of it to the loved one.
