Second Chance

Prompt: During Vader's final moments the force rewinds the clock and gives Anakin a second chance. He returns to the time of the Republic.

"You were right—tell your sister—you were right"Anakin told his son Luke before feeling himself fall into darkness.

But the darkness soon faded and light overtook him. He blinked his eyes open only to see that he was in a familiar medical center. This was the old medical center in the Jedi temple.

Why was he here?

He then lifted his body from the medical bed. He sighed before gazing upon his hands. One covered in a glove, which wasn't the one that surprised him. But one that was made up of tanned flesh.

He looked down to see himself wearing his dark tabard and tossed on a chair to his right was his old Jedi cloak. He laughed in surprise, he was back!

He quickly got up and pulled on his Jedi robe and ran out of the medical room doors only to be greeted by a startled nurse. She ran after him as he ran down the halls, "GENERAL SKYWALKER!!!"The nurse called after him and he laughed loving to hear his true title.

No more "my Lord!" No more "Darth Vader!" No more "my apprentice!" He was back to being no more than a general of the 501st, and he loved it.

But his running had not been for no reason, he had a place he needed to be; more accurately a person he needed to see. He had ran to the hanger and jumped into his old yellow interceptor.

Anakin flew through the busy sky, the sun glinting off of the buildings. Coruscant had never looked so beautiful to him. Even during the clone wars, it was still a beautiful planet.

Anakin landed the Interceptor and ran faster than he had ever ran before. No cybernetic legs could stop him now. He rushed up to your shared apartment and forced the door open.

"(Y/N)!?!"Anakin called for you waiting for you to answer. But another voice Anakin had missed answered instead.

"MASTER ANI!"Threepio answered walking over to him and Anakin couldn't help but hug his droid.

"Master Ani, I am not accustom to humans, is this normal behavior?"3PO asked his master.

Anakin laughed, "I suppose it is 3PO!"Anakin answered. "Threepio where is (y/n)?"Anakin asks his protocol droid.

"Master Ani, miss (l/n) is on Naboo! Did she not inform you?"3P0 asked him making him smile bigger. You were alive, you were on Naboo, you were safe, you were pregnant with Luke and Leia.

"3PO I will be out for a bit, the apartment is yours for tonight!"Anakin told him before leaving and going back to his ship. But then he thought about Sidious. As much as he wanted to go see you, he knew he had to do something first!

He piloted back to the temple and landed before going to find Master Windu and tell him everything. Windu instructed him to stay in the Council room and he remembered this happening before. But unlike the first time he would listen.

Sidious being unaware of Anakin not arriving was blind sided and quickly taken down by Master Windu.

The council was then informed and Anakin stood before the Council an hour later. "Correct young Skywalker was!"Master Yoda said and all the council members even Windu agreed.

"The war is soon to be over then, thanks to you!"Shaak Ti said smiling at Anakin.

"The council have decided to grant you the rank of Master for your services in taking down Sidious!"Windu said.

Anakin smiled and nodded but to everyone's shock even his own he spoke, "thanks but no thanks Masters, I quit!"Anakin said.

Murmurs arose and Yoda spoke, "confident in your decision, you are?"Yoda asked and Anakin nodded.
