You were fighting against armored battle droids. You and your troops were making significant headway. Anakin's troops were on the other side of the battleground fighting their own battle droids.

You gripped your green lightsaber and slashed at the battle droid in front of you. One of the droids fired at you when your back was turned. Before they could hit you however one of your clones jumped in front of the blasts and took the shots that were meant for you. You turned around once you heard the clones body make impact with the ground.

You knelt down and pulled the man's helmet off. The other clones had your back and protected you as you tried to help their dying Comrade. Blood was oozing from the corners of his mouth and the wound from the shot that had penetrated his armor. You then recognized the clone as Kaleb one of the clones you thought of as a friend. "Forgive—me—general!"He gasped out.

You pushed your hands on his wounds to try and stop the bleeding. But the clone knew it was a fruitless effort. He knew he was done for, "forgive—me!"He gasped again.

You tried to hold back your tears, "all is forgiven, Kaleb!"You say just as he placed a bloodied hand on your cheek.

"It has—been an—honor—serving—with you!" Kaleb said before he fell limp in your arms. His hand fell from your cheek and you released yourself from him.

"Thank you, my friend!"You say bowing your head in respect to your brother in arms. You attempted to keep your tears at bay as you stood back up.

You reignited your lightsaber until your realized that the battle had already been won.

Anakin along with Ashoka commed you and you were now grappling with the loss of Kaleb that you were in shock from what happened that you didn't answer. Not until Anakin and Ashoka ran toward you, did you snap back to reality. "(Y/N)!!!" Anakin called running toward you gripping your arms and seeing the drying clone blood on your face and hands.

"(y/n) what happened?"Ashoka asked.

You shook your head still somewhat in shock. Anakin picked you up and brought you to a ship and laid you down where a field nurse ran over.

"What happened, general Skywalker?" The nurse asked Anakin.

He shook his head, "I don't know, I'm fine but General (l/n) seems to be in shock and I need you to make sure she's alright, got it?"He said to the nurse.

She nodded, "I'll find out what I can and do what I can, general!" The nurse said and he left back to checkup on his own troops.

Ahsoka gripped your hand and sat next to you as the nurse checked up on you. She wiped the dried blood from your hands and cheeks with a damp clean cloth. You just stared blankly at the adjacent wall of the ship, never saying a word.

Anakin came back 30 minutes later and he could see you had been cleaned of the blood. Ahsoka looked up and saw her master. She removed her hand from yours and walked over to him."How's she doin?" He asks Ahsoka.

She nodded your way, "see for yourself!" She answered and Anakin looked closer and saw how truly miserable you looked; you looked as though your own shadow would scare you.

The nurse walked up to him and Ahsoka and spoke, "General Skywalker, it appears she's physically healthy, but mentally unstable!" The nurse told him and he nodded before walking over to you and kneeling down.

You stared blankly, almost as though you were looking right through him. You looked as though Anakin wasn't even there at all. He hesitantly placed a hand on your shoulder. "Can you hear me, baby?" He whispered to you and you finally give him a response, a simple nod of your head. "Could you say something for me please?" He asked of you.

"K—Kaleb!" You whispered.

"What was that, baby?" Anakin asked as you had spoken too quiet for him to hear.

"Kaleb?" You said a little louder but a lot more unsure of yourself.

Anakin then understood and wrapped his arms around you. He held you to his chest and rubbed up and down your arm. "It's okay, baby!" He whispered his calming voice settling over you.

You lean your head against his chest and eventually fell asleep from exhaustion. Ahsoka came over and sat next to you and wrapped her arms around you too.

"She'll be okay, right Master?" Ahsoka asked Anakin.

Anakin shook his head, "I don't know Snips! I truly don't know!" He answered and she nodded still holding onto you. When the ship landed back on Coruscant Anakin helped you stand and walk down the ramp.

"Excellent work, you three!" Obi Wan congratulated having just gotten home a few hours before you. He then noticed your shaken up expression and walked toward you and Anakin. "What happened, Anakin?" Obi Wan asked concerned.

Anakin held you tighter to him as he answered, "Kaleb was killed, and she won't talk to me really or anyone for that matter." He told his old master. "I'm gonna bring her to her room, and then I'll meet the masters in the Council room!" He said and Obi Wan nodded before walking away.

When Anakin made it to your room you wouldn't let go of his neck. "Angel, please let go!" He asked before using his metal arm to pull your hands from around him. You whined out for him and it pained him to leave you alone in your room, but he had to report to the Council. "I'll be back soon, Angel! I promise!" Anakin promised before walking to the Council room.

Ahsoka met him there and they entered and bowed to the Council members, "successful, mission was?" Master Yoda asked.

Anakin was the one to answer, "yes Master Yoda, however General (l/n) will not be joining us today, as she needs to recover mentally from battle!" Anakin said leaving out as much detail as possible.

"Pray tell what general (l/n) saw to think she needs to recover mentally?" Mace Windu says critically.

Anakin narrows his eyes at the master, not liking the master's tone, "that is something you must ask General (l/n), for I am unaware of the reason!" Anakin answered moderately truthfully.

"Very well, Skywalker give us your report!" Master Plo Koon said veering the topic back to the mission at hand, which Anakin was grateful to the master for doing.

After the debriefing Anakin returned to (y/n)'s room. Only to rush inside when he heard your ear splitting scream.

You were just trudging to the bathroom when you turned on the faucet. The water was clear until you placed your hands under the water. The water color changed, it grew darker as time went on, it was red—blood red!

You screamed and cried trying to clean your hands rubbing them profusely with the other. You were trying everything to remove every trace of blood from your hands, rubbing them practically raw.

The door to the bathroom slammed open and arms grabbed your hands from the faucet and turned the water off. A pair of hands held your face in them, one leather and one flesh. You were gasping for breath as you fell to the ground and the person's hands followed you down.

Your ears felt clogged but soon you were able to make out a calming voice speaking. "(y/n), your safe with me, shhh, your safe with me!" Anakin's voice kept repeating that rocking you back and forth in his arms.

You fisted his robe in your hands as you cried into his chest. He rubbed up and down your back to soothe you. "He's dead—he's dead, he's dead—because of me!" You whimper and Anakin peels you off of him and cups your cheek.

He shakes his head, "he chose to sacrifice himself; he did that because he loved and respected you." Anakin said wiping a tear from your cheek. "But he did that so that you could live; don't let his sacrifice be in vain, Angel! Don't blame yourself, his death is not your fault!" Anakin whispers.

You wipe at your eyes, knowing that Anakin had dealt with loss before too, "does it—ever get better?" You ask sniffling.

He smiled sadly and shook his head, "no Angel, it doesn't! But you learn to live with the pain, eventually!" He responded.

You nodded and leaned your head back on his chest, just needing him to hold you in this moment. A simple phrase kept repeating in your mind, it is not my fault!
