Save Her

Prompt: You meet Anakin on Mustafar, but this is before the Jedi purge so Order 66 hasn't happened yet. But something happens on Mustafar and you die somehow, and Sidious comes to sway Anakin deeper to the dark side.

"PLEASE SAVE HER!" Anakin cries out in sorrow as he holds his wife's lifeless body to his chest.

"I am unable to do that!" Sidious said placing a hand on Anakin's shoulder.

Anakin's eyes burned yellow and with one hand he force pushed the Chancellor into the lava. "Then what use are you to me?" He whispered before his hand went back to trace his lover's cheek, just begging her to wake up.

"Angel, please come back to me!" He pleads with her lifeless body.

Anakin places his hand on her pregnant belly to try and sense their child, but felt only emptiness. Anakin let out a heart breaking sob at the realization that he not only lost his wife, he lost their child as well.

He kissed her forehead and hovered his hand over her heart. He would attempt to bring her back somehow, even if it meant killing himself in the process, because he could not live in a galaxy with her gone.

Anakin focused every ounce of power he had into her heart and her soul. He used the force to feel her heart in her chest. Anakin did what he could, then waited a moment. Her body lay still for what felt like hours, until to Anakin's delight he felt a faint and soft heartbeat emanating from within her.

It was faint and weak, but it was there and it was something! He called for Obi Wan and he told his old master to tell the council that he had dealt with Palpatine, who confessed to him of being the leader of the Sith.

Anakin kept his love stable until actual professionals in the medical field could come and help. An hour later Obi Wan and Yoda found Anakin on Mustafar. The nurses brought (y/n) into the ship and stabilized her.

They did a scan of her belly and Anakin was amazed to find that he not only saved the life of his wife but also his twins. "Very lucky, she is! Have someone love her as much as you do!" Yoda said to Anakin. The green little man placed a hand in Anakin's.

"Recover, believe she will. Babies, powerful force users they will become!" He continued. Anakin turned toward the Jedi Master.

"Are you disappointed in me master, I broke the code, how can you act so calm?" Anakin asks.

Yoda chuckles, "far from disappointed me you have, brought balance to the force you did. Proud of you I am." He said and Anakin smiled at the Master. "Released from the Jedi order, you are if you so wish; be there to raise your family you must!" Yoda said and Anakin let out a sigh of relief.

"What about the rest of the council, what do they think of this?" Anakin asked.

"Decision theirs it is not, war time soon to be over it is, peacekeepers Jedi soon will be again!" Yoda told Anakin.

Anakin squeezed the master's hand, "thank you, Master Yoda; May the force with you!" Anakin said relieved and felt as though a great burden had been lifted from his shoulders. He no longer had to hide his feelings for his wife, he could be free to love her and his children without the problem of being forced to keep it hidden.

Yoda left Anakin to watch from the observation window. Obi Wan came in and stood next to his brother. "You did good, Anakin; I'm very proud of you!" Obi Wan said.

Anakin turned toward Obi Wan in surprise, "I didn't let you down, Obi Wan?" He asked.

Obi Wan chuckled, "your my brother, Anakin! I love you, and I want you to be happy, and if she makes you happy, then you can't possibly have let me down!" Obi Wan said to his brother.

The Jedi's hugged each other, and for the first time in a long time, Anakin actually felt at peace. Obi Wan saw himself out and Anakin was again left alone to watch over his Angel and little blessings that he almost lost.

It wasn't until 2 hours later that Anakin was aloud inside. Her breathing and heart rate was stable, but she was still unconscious. Anakin took the hand that wasn't attached to a machine in his own. "We're having twins, Angel; can you believe it?" Anakin said out loud with a smile.

He once heard that some people who were unconscious could hear sounds and voices from the outside world, so he thought he'd give it a try. "I've been freed from the Jedi order, we can move to anyplace in the galaxy, possibly a place without sand; and raise our children in peace, just like we wanted!" He whispered.

He felt her pointer finger twitch against his hand and he grew excited, his voice seemed to be working. "I was thinking about baby names and I settled on a pretty one for a girl. You know that your my Angel and Angel's reside in Heaven, well I was researching names and I found one that would be perfect. Leia, it means, 'Child of Heaven' which I found fitting. What do you think?" Anakin said waiting for a reply. He grew slightly sad when he didn't receive one right away. He bowed his head that is until he heard a familiar voice.

"I think it's—perfect!" A voice said and Anakin whipped his head up to see the (e/c) eyes of his wife staring back at him.

Anakin laughed a joyous laugh before he got up and leaned down to kiss his wife's lips. Her lips were warm not cold like a corpse; she was alive, they all were. "I thought I lost you, forever!" He whispered against her lips and she smiled.

"I'm here, Ani, I'm right here!" She reminded him and he smiled.

"How much of my words did you hear, Angel?" Anakin asked.

"It was being free from the Jedi order!" She replied.

"Well what if I were to tell you that we're having twins?" He confessed and (y/n) broke out into a smile.

"Then I'd say I'm the luckiest woman in the galaxy!" She says and Anakin places a piece of hair behind his wife's ear. She scooted over on the hospital bed and beckoned him to come lay with her. He obliged but was weary of the wires and needles in her skin so as not to disturb them and their purpose.

She leaned her head on his shoulder and took his gloved hand in one of hers. She played with the fingers of it as they sat in silence for what felt like hours, but neither minded. Anakin had his wife back and his children on the way; all alive and all healthy and safe, what more could he possibly have wanted?

"So were you being serious before, you like the name, Leia?" Anakin asks after awhile.

(y/n) nodded her head, "I think it's perfect!" She agrees.

"I think your perfect!" Anakin replies and (y/n) laughs.

"Always a flirt, Ani!" She says shaking her head in amusement.

Anakin smiled, "only with you, Angel!" He said kissing her cheek.

Anakin wrapped an arm over her belly, feeling his children's hearts beat rhythmically through the force. His head dropped to his wife's chest where Anakin could hear his wife's heartbeat.

Anakin in that moment realized he hadn't needed the dark side to save his wife. His love had been the thing that ultimately brought her back to him. Love was stronger than even the dark side. It had been his love that had ultimately saved her in the end.
