18. Dredge Up

Jin couldn't help but moan softly in his kiss with Taehyung- as the latter let his hands travel down Jin's butt cheeks to squeeze them gently. They were slowly playing with each other's tongues as they breathed each other's breath while they pant heavily.

Then Jin quickly pulled away when he heard the pot lid - shaking hysterically because of its boiling water.

"Tae-- your stew.."

Taehyung then let out a frustrated sigh, but he let go of Jin's hips as he needed to check the pot. He said, "You are a distraction to the kitchen, Jin."

Jin chuckled a bit, "Sorry. It wasn't me who started the kiss though. I was just thanking you for coming over again to cook dinner for me. I told you-- you didn't have to do it like every single day."

"And I told you that I like doing it for you and our baby. So that led me to kissing you, because you are so cutely stubborn." Taehyung smiled as he turned to look at Jin. "Food's ready."

"O-okay. I will set the table." Jin shyly smiled, as he was always caught off guard by Taehyung's gaze.

As Jin and Taehyung shared the dinner that the Alpha cooked, they both were chatting about different things - just anything under the sun about themselves. And Jin was very happy having to spend a time like this with Taehyung.

"I like this." Jin suddenly muttered.

"Which one? The kimchi stew or the grilled fish?"

"No, I mean- I like this. You know-- we get to talk like this, just the two of us. About ourselves, our likes and dislikes.. I am learning a lot more about you. Come to think of it, I haven't really been this close to you when we were younger. You were always just quiet and reserved most of the times."

"That's the only thing you can remember about me? I'm quiet?!" Taehyung laughed a bit, "I've been a really good student, haven't I? I was the fifth amongst our batch in grades ranking during our last year. And I won the spelling bee when we were in eighth grade - which should be memorable to everyone because it's always JK who wins just everything, and that's the first time someone beat him at something."

Jin's eyes blinked a few times at the mention of Jungkook's name, which didn't go unnoticed by Taehyung. But Jin quickly smiled and said, "Yeah, I remember that too. You were amazing at a lot of things too, Tae. I just meant that you were a bit quiet that's why we didn't get to know each other a lot."

Taehyung just nodded and brought his attention to his plate. But he muttered, "You just assumed I was quiet because you really never paid attention to anyone else but him."

Jin's eyes widened a bit, but he quickly lowered his gaze to his food. Then he smiled sadly, "I-- I'm sorry about that. I didn't realize--"

"You know what, that's fine. I'm sorry for bringing that up suddenly. That's the past. We should let it go, right? You-- you should let it go."

Jin looked at Taehyung's eyes and stared at him for a while. Then he said, "Y-yes. That's the way it should be."

Taehyung then smiled and took his hand, "Uhm- look, I was thinking.. wouldn't it be nice if we go to a place where we can be closer? Like a relaxing vacation. Just the two of us."

"Well, we are always together nowadays, just the two of us. Isn't this enough?"

"No. I'm thinking of a more intimate time. You know how I've always said that I wanted the two of us to be special when we finally have sex?..
