7. End of the Past

Flashback continues.

"So, did you open yours?!" Jin asked Jungkook as soon as they reached an empty staircase.

"No. You said we'll open them together. I was waiting for you to arrive." Jungkook said in a very soft voice.

"Okay, sorry, I was a bit late. Hmm- let's see yours first?!"

Jungkook nodded and opened his envelope. He was worried as much as Jin was. As for Jin-- since his parents were a mix of an Alpha and Beta, he was not sure if he'll be an Alpha. Being a Beta could be possible- but the way that Jin was excelling and superior in a lot of things, especially in school, they all believed that he is an Alpha.

But with Jungkook-- his biological father was actually an Omega. But it was a big family secret as it could totally taint the Jeon's legacy. This was making Jungkook so anxious but when he told Jin about it, he somehow felt hopeful. Though it was a very confidential thing, he knew he could trust Jin with it. And it became a big help to him as Jin comforts him and encourages him like no other.

Jungkook's legal parents were both Alphas - just as how it runs in their family. But his other father was tempted to sleep with an Omega one night and Jungkook became the result of it.

However, his Omega father eventually left them to go with another Alpha. This is why Jungkook despised Omegas so much. He believes that they are weak and deceiving at the same time.

The scent of a dominant Omega can lure any Alpha in, especially when they are in heat. They can also easily give in to strong Alpha pheromones. Therefore, Jungkook thinks they can never be loyal to someone as their drive for sex is always uncontrollable and unpredictable.

That was what he was taught to believe though.

Jin and Jungkook argued about this once - with Jin saying that it might be prevented by marking permanently. If an Omega was marked by his Alpha, then no other Alpha can touch him. But of course, Jin didn't win against Jungkook when it comes to reasoning. They just ended up fighting. So whenever Jungkook expresses his displeasure with Omegas, Jin just keeps silent about it.

Jin then heard Jungkook let out a deep breath, then the latter slightly smiled at him. "I'm an Alpha, Jinnie."

"Yes, I knew it!" Jin gave him a hug but quickly pulled back as he's afraid someone might see them. "I'm so happy for you, Kookie!"

Jungkook smiled even more then brushed and messed Jin's hair up, saying, "C'mon, let's see yours now."

As Jin opened his result, he did not realize that his mouth went agape instantly.

"How could this b-be?! No way--"

"Why, Jinnie?! What is it- are you a Beta?!"

Jin's hands were trembling as he spoke, "N-no.. I-- I'm a dominant Omega.."

"A w-what?!"

Jin looked at Jungkook, speechless. He was lost for words. His sight was starting to become blurry when the Alpha snatched the paper from his hands.

"Are you sure this is yours?! There must've been some kind of mistake."

"I-- I don't know.."

"Hey-- listen to me. Don't cry, Jinnie. How about you ask the principal or the teacher for a re-test? Something might have gone wrong with your test."

Jin couldn't even understand what Jungkook was saying at the time. He was just feeling so devastated right now.

He didn't expect this, and he couldn't believe that out of all the ranks.. he is an Omega.
