Chapter 8

Tanya's POV:

   I open the door finding Carlisle and Esme smiling at me with the others trailing after them. "Hello, Cullen clan. What do we owe the pleasure of your unannounced visit," I say raising an eyebrow at them.

   Carlisle winced slightly since he knows that I always want a heads up if he's coming here or not. "I'm sorry for us showing up unannounced on your doorstep, Tanya. Everything kinda just happened and the first thing that popped off in our heads was you and the others," he says making me stare at him confused and a little concern.

"What happened? Are you guys hurt?" Irina questions from her spot on my right and slides her hand in mine.

"No, nothing like that. Well, Edward not so much. It's a long story," Esme responds with a sad frown making Kate snort slightly.

She turns on her heel, "oh and I thought it was something serious for once. I'm gonna go set up my game for Hope and I."

She dodges the swipe from Irina with the small hiss escaping from me. Idiot. "Who's Hope? Did Kate finally find her mate?" Carlisle questions with a smile.

Irina and I wince at that saying just as we hear Kate gag in the background. "Uh no but before we go more into that. What are your plans here?" I spoke up.

Carlisle clears his throat, "we were gonna ask if we could stay here for a month or so until our house here is to our liking. Only if that's ok with you Tanya."

I glance at Irina who shrugs slightly before I face my old friend. "That's fine but remember the rules. We have a guest staying with us so no one will be invading her room or be nosy. Come in. We have more to talk about. But please be quiet she's asleep," I inform them all before turning around and pulled my wife with me.

   "Asleep? She's human?" Esme asks in shock as they all walk into the living room where Kate is setting up her game while Eleazar stands to shake Carlisle's hand.

"And yet when I told you guys about Be- her you gave us crap about it and now you have one of your own?" Edward spoke up making my coven and I stop in our tracks.

Distinctly I hear Esme chastise him for that. This little self entered tool. I turn around with fury in my eyes.

"Not that it's any of your business Edward, Hope is not human. If you think you can come into our home and take jabs at us then you have another thing coming. We've known her family a lot longer than I have you. Centuries worth," Kate snaps back and sped to her feet to stand next to us.

Carlisle set his hand on Edward's shoulder. "Forgive him, please. He just got his heart broken so he's under a lot of stress," he defends his child like always.

   "Doesn't matter if he is or not. If he can't keep his words to himself then he can get the hell out of our house," Carmen hissed angrily taking the Cullens back since she's never really aggressive. Distinctly we hear the shower turn on upstairs meaning Hope is awake.

You know ever since Hope came Carmen practically created a motherly bond with her so that makes her extremely protective of her.

"W-what's that smell?" Alice hesitantly spoke up bringing everyone's attention to her. She and Rosalie are sniffing the air with their eyes rolling back in pleasure.

"You probably smell Hope. She has a very unique scent," Eleazar answers with a small smile but I don't think that's just it.

   I mean of course Hope does have a unique smell but it never bothered us and certainly never affected us like it is doing to them. Interesting.

   The two nod slowly before glancing at each other with a certain look. "Before she comes down I need you all to understand that if you try to hurt her, she has permission from her aunt to defend herself and trust me she's not easily beaten. If you pose a threat to her then you will have us to deal with," I sternly tell them making sure to look at all of them in the eyes before we all hear footsteps descending the stairs.
