Chapter 24

Kate's POV:

     I pass Hope her pink drink from Starbucks and lean back against the wall with my own in my hands. "Jed texted me saying they're exiting the plane already. He should be out in a few minutes," she informs me and I nod with a hum as I get distracted.

   Right. I take a drink and gaze back at this brunette girl who keeps glancing at me. Oh she seems interested in me.

Hope suddenly chuckles and leans in next to my ear. "Keep it in your pants, sister," I scoff playfully and push her away from me.

Yeah yeah. "It's in my pants, thank you," I retort getting an amused giggle from her. Oh yeah laugh it up.

"Bestie!" Our heads snap towards the gates and there I find a tall built black haired Chinese-American guy waving his hand with a grin. Oh yeah you can tell he's gay but in a good way.

   Hope squeals excitedly, "bestie!" She waves her hand with almost the same grin and runs at him leaving her drink on the table next to us.

   I smile in amusement as they collide. The most amusing part is when Jed literally jumped into her arms. He has his legs wrapped around her waist and everything.

   It's funny to see this tall brute of a guy making a girl who's shorter than him carry him. Hope twirls around gaining laughs from other people.

   She set him down and smiles up at him. He's a whole head taller. Like Emmett's height but from the looks of it, Emmett's taller by like an inch.

   "I missed you, Jed," she says as she wrapped her arms around his torso and laid her head on his chest. He smiles softly down at her and wrapped her up in what looks to be a big warm bear hug.

  Aw so cute. "Missed you too, Hope. I'm so glad you're safe now," he softly responds leaning a bit down to kiss her forehead.

I smile softly at their adorable reunion. They pull away and Hope turns to me with a smile. "Jeddy boo, I want you to meet my older sister. The one and only Kate Denali. She's amazing," she announces proudly and if I could bush I would have.

   I step closer and gently grab his hand that he held out with a smile. "It's nice to meet you, Jed. I've heard so much about you," I politely tell him as I shake his hand carefully.

   "It's nice to meet you too, Kate. This one has told me a lot about you. I can't wait to go on these wild adventures this one tells me so much about," he says with an excited grin and I chuckle softly.

   "Oh yeah. You're going to fit right in here," I respond and Hope grins with a nod of agreement. I pat her arm gently and pull away.

  "Alright let's get a move on. Carmen is making breakfast and you know how she is if we're late," I announce as I give Hope a pointed look.

    She grimaced with a nod. "And we don't want that. Come on, Jeddy Boo," she says tugging on his arm. He picks up his duffel bag and slings it on his shoulder then pulled his suitcase behind him as we all walk out of the airport.

"Soo any crazy adventures that's lying in wait for me?" He spoke up as we got into the parking lot.

I share a smirk with Hope. "Oh just you wait, Jed. This is going to be an awesome winter break," I respond and he grins excitedly.

   We reached Hope's car and he whistles. "Damn this looks even better in person," he states as he looks the car over in awe.

   "Yeah this is my baby," Hope comments as she grazed her fingers along the roof with a soft sigh. I swear if she could, she would put a blanket over it and try to take care of it like it's a real child.

   She unlocks it and pops the trunk. Jed set his duffle bag in then his suitcase. "Uh can we stop at a donut shop first? I want to take some so I don't just show up empty handed," he questions as he rubs the back of his neck with a shy smile.

Aw. I smile softly at him. "You don't have to do that, Jed," I try to reassure him but he shakes his head.

"Oh I know but I want too. It's the polite thing to do," he responds softly with a small shrug. Okay he has got to be one of the most polite guys out there.

   "Sure. Well stop at Joeys for some donuts, Jeddy," Hope says patting his back before getting into the driver's side.

  I give him one last smile before getting into the passenger side. He gets into the back and we all buckle up.

  Hope turns on the car and pulled out of the parking lot. "So tell me what happened these passed few months. Don't leave out any details either," Jed spoke up.

   I chuckle soft in amusement. Yeah Hope warned me about that. He always wants to be in the loop and the gossip.

For the sorta long ride to the donut shop Hope and I explained what happened. About us going to college, making friends, Hope getting tattoos that he demands to see when we get home, Hope meeting her mates.

Everything. We told him everything all the way down to Aurora dying. Well we had to half it because we couldn't fit it all in the ride to the Joeys.

So we split the story in half. Half before Joeys and the other half on the ride home. This boy got three dozens.

To be honest I feel like he got just the right amount because of Emmett. He can fuck up a box of donuts by himself. Ever since Hope gave him the potion, he's been on a sweet binge.

Any sweets he can grab ahold of it, he tries. It's a good thing we don't gain weight with eating human food because he would for sure be at least 6 hundred pounds by now.

Pies, cakes, ice cream, cookies, candy, any type of sweets he will absorb. It's a bit unsettling and kinda gross to watch. Now I will admit I was like that when I first got the potion.

But I've calmed down. Sorta. Human food certainly has adapted from the old ages. I love this era more than my own.

The food, the alcohol, the games, the cars, and tv. Amazing and beautiful. Just absolutely beautiful. Especially the alcohol.

Mm when we get home, I'm going straight for the bourbon. Hope got me hooked on it. Now we have to buy at least four bottles instead of just two like before. She made me obsessed.
