Chapter 10

Hope's POV:

   "Damn, that's a nice ass car you have there," Emmett whistles as I drive towards the others with my windows down.

   "Thank you. This is my pride and joy right here," I respond patting the dashboard gently with Kate agreeing.

"And her baby so be careful with it, Emmett," Tanya spoke up chuckling as I nod quickly with my eyes squinted at the big guy who backs away with his hands up.

  "You sound just like Rosalie with how protective she is with her BMW," he spoke up and I look towards my mates who are nodding.

   "A girl after my own heart," I say with a wink getting a smirk from her. Not gonna lie that was so hot.

   Kate pushed me back against my seat and crawled over me to stick her head out my window. "Let's go! We're burning daylight and I promised Hope Starbucks," she exclaims making me chuckle softly.

    I peaked out the window finding our family shaking their heads with amused smiles. "Right well let's get going then," Eleazar says chuckling and grabs onto Carmen's hand.

  Kate and I cheer while she scoots back in her seat. "Does anyone need a ride? We have room in the back," I call out pointing to the back with my thumb.

"Not Edward though," Kate stage whispers making me smother my laugh as the boy in question glares at her through the windshield.

Rosalie and Alice both quickly stepped forward with nods. Score! I fist bump myself subtly well I thought was subtly since Kate snickers behind me.

"Of course you want them to ride in you're car," Kate says in a teasing tone and I whirl around with a playful glare.

   "Two words. PS5 controller," I say in a warning tone and I make a show of reaching for my seatbelt.

"No, I'm sorry," she whines out with her bottom lip jutted out in a pout making me giggle and playfully roll my eyes while raising my hands to show her I'm not going to.

    The back doors of my car opens and in comes my mates looking flawlessly in the act. Kate pushes my head forward, "come on, dude. You can ogle your mates later."

   I swat her hand away with a playful glare listening to my mates giggle quietly. That's now my favorite sound in the world.

   Once everyone got settled in their car and ready, we took off. "So what really brings you guys here," Kate asks glancing back to the girls.

I glance in the rear view mirror watching as the two share a look."Edward said Bella told him to leave because of a small incident that happened on her birthday. Or so he says," Alice answers with a quiet sad sigh.

   My eyebrows scrunch up a bit in confusion. From what Kate told me, Bella's human and it's against their laws to let a human know of their existence.

   "And you don't believe that?" Kate questions back and I slow to a stop behind Eleazar where the stoplight is red.

   Rosalie scoffs, "please. Why would a human who's so in love with Edward decide overnight to tell him to leave her alone? My bet is Edward's having one of those episodes of 'I'm a monster with no soul who shouldn't damn Bella's soul by being with her'. He's such a dumbass."

   I start chuckling at that. I tried to hold it in but I couldn't. "Sorry," I apologize quickly after and glance back at them but they wave me off with a smile.

"It's okay. It is pretty funny," Alice says with a cute reassuring smile and I nod with a smile. I press on the gas to follow after Eleazar.

"Sounds like there's a few holes in his story," Kate spoke up in a teasing voice. The girls chuckle softly and agree.
