You sighed as a familiar current tugged at your wrist for the third time. In the hour that you had been standing in line, the fine thread of magic had not stopped bothering you, it was obvious that the woman to whom it belonged would not give up so easily.

"I'll be right back" you told your friend

He just smiled and told you that he would wait at your usual table. You nodded and walked through the crowd to get out of the cafeteria. The icy air hit you and you pulled your jacket tighter against your body as you looked around for the pair of blue eyes you thought you'd never see again.

You rolled your eyes when you managed to see her hiding between a couple of trees and she waved you to the nearby alley. Of course, it would be a dramatic reunion, she had always been like that. You mustered all the courage you could and walked with a firm step, ignoring the people around you.

One of the advantages of living in such a big city is that nobody paid any attention to a young woman who walked into an alley of her own free will. Good, because this would be quick and you didn't need prying eyes following you.

"Still hanging out with that guy, huh?" said a voice in front of you

"Yes"

"I never liked him" she said

"I don't care"

"Ouch, there was no need to be so harsh, honey."

"What do you want, Agatha?" you said coldly

"Is this how you welcome the love of your life, Y/N?"

You stared into the darkness, certain that if anyone peeked out at that moment, they would think you were crazy for talking to a wall, and clenched your fists. Little by little, the witch came out of the shadows until she was in front of you with that damn smile that in a past time weakened your legs. It surprised you to find that it no longer had the same effect.

You no longer felt anything in her presence.

"I really thought you'd be glad to see me" she sighed.

"Really? After you dumped me for a redhead with circus tricks?" you raised an eyebrow

"You know I didn't go after Wanda with those intentions" she frowned "And I didn't dump you"

"I don't care what your intentions were, Harkness, it doesn't change the fact that you left" you said "besides, didn't you tell Maximoff you were single? I think that counts as dumping me"

"That wasn't serious honey" she smiled "it was Agnes, not me"

Ah yes, Agnes, the character your then-girlfriend had chosen to play within the hideous lie in the kidnapped city. As an agent of S.W.O.R.D. you had been taken by surprise to see Agatha inside the hex. At first, you were scared, thinking that she had been a victim of Maximoff's powers, but the more you saw, the more you became convinced that she was in full use of her mental faculties, and that she wasn't being controlled like the rest of the innocent people. And that only made everything hurt more.

"I think I liked her better then"

"Excuse me?"

"At least for 'Agnes' it was true, but not for you, Agatha" you shrugged "but that's okay, I get it"

She smirked at you and that only made you clench your fists harder, digging your nails into your palms. It was amazing, really, how a smile you'd previously found adorable and loved so much now made you gag.
