"We need to talk"

Maybe it hadn't been the best choice of words, but there was nothing you could do about it now. Agatha frowned at you before letting out a laugh, trying to hide the nervousness building in her. She hated those words.

She was over 300 years old, it would be ridiculous to think that she had remained chaste and virgin for all that time, especially considering the witch's mischievous personality.

But with so many relationships, there were also breakups, and while she definitely hadn't loved any of them as much as she loved you, she had learned to hate those words.

Now, you were her soul mate. She knew it. The magic that bound her to you was stronger than any and losing you...losing you would probably kill her. But she wouldn't think about that, not when you hadn't said anything to her yet.

"So..." you took a deep breath and reached over to hold her hands "remember the time I threw up at Wanda's and you had to carry me?"

"Which of all?" she joked

"Exactly! It wasn't normal for it to happen to me so many times! So I went to the doctor and-"

"Why? You could have asked me to check you" Agatha crossed her arms

"Shhh, we both know that you get sensitive when it comes to me"

"That is not true!"

"Aha" you smiled at the slight pout she was making "anyway...I have news for you"

Agatha looked at you curiously but the weight on her chest melted away knowing you weren't planning on leaving her. At least after that, whatever you planned to say to her couldn't scare her anymore.

"I was planning on doing something cute and everything to tell you, but...fuck it, I'm too excited."

"Honey, your smile is scaring me" she joked "Just tell me already"

"Okay...I'M PREGNANT!!"

_______________

"Agatha?"

The brunette grunted as she slowly opened her eyes. The light pierced her but she felt something soft and warm under her head. It took her a moment to realize it was you, cradling her against your chest.

"Oh good, you're not dead" you sighed in relief

"What happened?"

"You passed out" you said "And look, you know I love you, but the non-pregnant wife is supposed to take care of the pregnant one, so-"

"Then I didn't dream it," she murmured, her eyes glowing with soft purple light, "you really are...we're going to-"

"Have a baby? yep"

__________________________

Fortunately, those were the only two times your wife passed out. Although what came after that wasn't much better.

You spent days holding the older woman against you, whispering little promises in her ear, assuring her that she would be a good mother, that no matter what Evanora said all those years ago, she would be the best mother in the world and you would be there to see it.

It hurt to see the normally bold and confident witch you had fallen in love with reduced to a child carrying fears, fears that her own mother had implanted in her. And you'd be lying if you said that you weren't scared yourself, but you were sure that together you would make it work and your daughter or son would be the most loved of all children.

Now you only hoped that the day of the birth would not be like the day of the news.
