Emma looked down at the floor with her teary eyes; she didn't have the courage to look up, certainly towards him. His cloying, dangerous glare was scaring her.
The room was filled with an eerie silence. The atmosphere had become solemn. Her eyes widened in pure horror when Jungkook started taking his predatory steps towards her. He marched towards her with his calculated steps, and Emma, being a scared cat, started taking her steps backward while he was coming closer and closer until there was no space to move her. She was stuck between him and the wall behind her.
Emma still didn't dare to look at him.He was done with her silence. First of all, who is she? And what the hell she was doing at night in his office, more precisely in his cabin? Above that, she dared to hit him; no one has put their fingers on him in his life, and here this mere little girl has not even strangled him but hit him. His was enraged for that only if she wasn't a girl he would have shown her what the real Jungkook is.
He was towering over her small frame, and his aura was already intimidating and dark, which was scaring the hell out of her.
A moment of silence passed between them when he asked in his deep, husky voice.
"Who the hell are you?" "And what are you doing here at this time?"
Jungkook asked with rage, and arrogance dripped from his voice. Emma flinched at hearing his deep, husky voice. She looked at his cold eyes and shuddered.
" I....I am Em...Emma . Your new assistant, Mr. Fang, has hired me. He..he must have told you about me.
Her reply jungkook's rage did lessen a little. His composure became calm. He recalled what Mr. Fang told him about his newly hired assistant. He hadn't met her or even known how she looked. He looked at the guard, who was standing quietly there, and gestured for him to go out from there. The guard obeyed and left both of them alone.
Seeing the guard dash out, her fear increased, and she doesn't know what he will do with her. She was in his territory, in his cage, and he was looking angry at the moment she knew he would definitely do something to her.
Her eyes became more teary; she had never experienced a situation like this in her life. It was terrifying for her because either she would lose her job or he would insult her, which she would not tolerate.
Jungkook looked at her teary eyes and spoke.
"What were you doing here at this time?"
"Mr. Fang told me that you have forgotten to take these important files with you, so he asked me to give them to you at your home." As you were coming home directly, so I went to your house, but you weren't there. There, I met a man who was asking me to give these files to him, but I didn't, and then mr. Fang told me to bring them again in the office, but due to traffic, I reached here late..and when I was coming into your cabin, I heard some noise, and i thought there must be a thief or spy who was trying to steal your important information from your cabin, so that's why I mistook you as being there, so I beat you.
Emma explained herself.
"Sir, please. I'm sorry, I didn't know you were there." I wouldn't do something like that if I had any idea you would be there. "Sir, please don't say anything to me. I swear. I will not tell anyone that I beat you."
Emma placed her hand on her mouth when she realised what she said in panic and desperation. Why would she even tell everyone about beating him?
Jungkook raised his brows when he heard her, and a smirk appeared on his face when he saw her trembling like a leaf in front of him. He liked her innocence, how cutely she was pleading with him, how her hazel eyes became moist and her cheeks and nose became red due to crying; she was looking like a ripe tomato.
He chuckled inwardly at her behavior; she was too fragile for this word, even though she was not at fault and was saying sorry. But he also liked the thought of her, that even though she was alone, she dared to catch the thief, even though there was no real thief. She just risked her life to protect his company, knowing that if there was a thief, he could have harmed her. He likes her loyalty and her bravery. Indeed, Mr. Fang chose the right person to be his assistant.
Jungkook moved back, keeping his poker face.
"This should be your first and last mistake, Emma." Because you are new, I'm letting you go.
Emma sighed in relief when she heard him speak.
"Thank you so much, sir, and I promise this will not happen again." "I won't disappoint you, sir."
Emma bowed to him and replied.
After a moment, Jungkook extended his hand forward and looked at her with anticipation.
Emma looked at him in confusion. She didn't understand what he was trying to do or say.Seeing her confused, Jungkook said
"Files"
Emma still didn't get what he said because her mind was occupied with the incident that happened moments ago. She still stood there clueless, looking at him as if he were some alien.
Letting out a sigh, Jungkook came forward, shook her head in an annoying manner, and stated.
"Emma, give me the files for which you came here."
And there the tubelight of her brain lighted, and she got what he wanted to say. She immediately searched her purse, in which she kept those files. When she got that, she took out those files and extended them to him. Jungkook took it with him. and turned around. Emma stood there silently watching him do whatever he was doing.
Moments later, when Jungkook found her still rooted to her spot, he looked at her with a frown and asked.
"Miss Emma, are you planning to spend your entire night here?"
Hearing his question, Emma replied.
"N...no, sir."
"Then why are you still standing here? Go home."
"I thought you needed something, and you didn't order me to go, so I thought I should stay here."
Emma enlightened him; he hummed in response and told her to go.
Emma was about to step out of his cabin when her feet halted upon hearing his voice.
"Next, miss Emma." Be careful before you strangle someone with your scarf. At least look at who is in front of you.
Jungkook teased her with a smug look on his face. Emma's cheeks turned red from embarrassment; she looked down and dashed out of there without looking back.
