The sky was adorned with a dark black hue. The sound of wind blowing could be heard, and everything was quite as it was nighttime and not a single soul was awake as it was 2 AM in the morning, but there was a girl who was not asleep. The sleep was so far from her eyes that she was crying her heart out. The girl was none other than Emma, whose condition was very bad due to crying; her eyes were red due to shading tears, and her face had turned pale.
The memory of today's incident was flashing in her mind again and again. She wanted to stop her thoughts but couldn't as her mind took her back to that heinous incident that had happened to her in the morning. Hannah tried to console her many times, but the girl was not listening.
She couldn't believe how those files came into Hanna's folder, but she knew her sister would never do something like that; she was not related to her office work by any means, so how those files ended up in Hanna's folder is beyond her. She trusts her sister, but she can't do this.
But Emma couldn't bear the humiliation she faced when Jungkook blamed her. So this is her worth in his eyes after spending so many months with her that he couldn't even understand her. Her behaviour and her morals didn't allow her to step so low. Not even in her dreams she would  think of doing something like this. but still they all blamed her and put a tag of betrayer on her head. The looks they all give her before leaving her house make her feel so disgusted with herself.
"Emma, stop crying, baby." I know you didn't do anything."
Hanna consoled her in the softest voice. averted her teary eyes from her. Hannah's heart was clenched seeing her condition. The girl has really taken the incident to heart. Hanna moved her hand closer to her face and wiped her tears. Emma whimpered slowly and said
"How can I not cry, Hanna the f? They consider me a cheater, a betrayer who spied on them, and no one believes me." "How can they even think that I can do something like this?"
"And Mr. Jeon... he has spent almost 6 months with me; he has seen my work." "Even though he was the one who would praise me if I did something right, how can he think of me this low?"
Emma shuddered in her crying voice. Hanna rubbed her back to soothe her; she knew how Emma was feeling right now. But the one thing eating Hanna's mind was how those files came into her bag, as she knows she doesn't even work at Jeon Enterprises or anywhere near his office, so it must be someone who was trying to frame her who has any kind of affinity with her.
"Emma, did you have any fights with someone in your office or some kind of disagreement?"
Hanna's question startled her; she looked at her with wide eyes and shook her head.
"No. Everyone behaves well with me; in fact, every person in my office treats me very well; we all are like family Hanna."
"But why are you asking me such questions?"
Emma asked her bemusedly.
"Because one thing is clear, Emma, whatever happened is leading to one thing: that someone wants to frame you." Someone might have enmity with you.
Hanna's statement made sense to Emma; otherwise, how would the files that she had safely kept in her office be in Hanna's folder? Someone must have planned this, Emma thought.
"So Emma, now you have to be careful as there is a traitor in your office who is behind you, so you have to work smarter and pay attention to every person in your office, even if you have no doubts about them."

"There is no need to be cautious, Hanna."
Emma's reply confused Hanna, as she had bemused expressions on her face and was frowning her brows as she inquired about her.
"What do you mean by saying there is no need to be cautious?"
Emma sighed and replied to her.
"What I mean is that I will not work at Jeon Enterprises anymore.I will not work at a place where no one believes me even after I work hard. "I work honestly, Hanna. I gave my blood, sweat, and tears, yet they raised questions about my honesty and loyalty. "I felt humiliated, Hanna, when everyone looked at me like I was some thief."
"So I have decided I will give my resignation letter tomorrow."
Hanna completely got her point—how she must be feeling right now and why she decided to give her resignation. She endorsed Emma's decision.

Emma woke up as soon as the sun's rays hit her face through the window. The new day has started, and birds were chirping in their melodious voices. Fresh wind blowing out of the window, on any other day Emma would have been enthusiastic to spend her new day, but today nothing seems appealing to her and everything turned gloomy for her. She felt dejected, sighing last time Emma turned to get ready for the last day of her office.
Emmma came out of the bathroom and started to get ready. She wore simple office attire. Her face has lost its glory. Anyone could say that she is sad just by looking at her face.

With a heavy heart, Emma stood outside Jeon Enterprises once again; once again, her mind was in complete dilemma as to whether she should go inside or not and whether she should resign from her job or not. Taking baby steps, Emma went inside the office. The moment she entered, everyone started looking at her with a very undefined expression; some were looking at her with pity, while others were looking at her as if she had committed some crime. Emma really felt sad and humiliated at the same time, so she decided to ignore everyone and go where she had to go.
While she was entering Jungkook's office, her friends Soobin and Joy approached her. They looked concerned and started shooting questions at her.
" Emma   How are you, and how did everything happen? Did you talk to Mr. Jungkook? I'm sure he will believe you.
Joy asked, looking at her.
"Yes, Emma, you should talk to him; he will do something about this matter."
Soobin said at the same time.
Emma looked at both of them with teary eyes. She knew these two would never leave her side; they were her gems and always supported her. Without thinking about it, she hugged both of them. They too reciprocated her action, but Emma's next word shocked them beyond measure.
"I'm not here to talk to Mr. Jungkook; I came here to give my resignation letter to him."
Emma replied, looking at the floor, even though she didn't want to leave them, but she had no choice. Her self-respect is her most precious asset, and she wouldn't work at a place where everyone would look at her as a criminal.

"But Emma.."  Joy tried to explain her but stopped her from saying.
"Please, Joy, I know what you want to say, but I can't work." "Please try to understand me." "I will suffocate here working knowing in what way everyone will be looking at me, and I don't want to face that thing even though I didn't do anything but still I can't work here."
Saying this, Emma parted herself from them and, passing them a small smile, went to Jungkook's cabin.

..............................................................................
Inside Jungkook's cabin

Emma was standing in his cabin, whereas Jungkook had a frown over his brows. Jungkook was sitting on a leather office chair behind the desk, wearing a black suit. His aura looked more intimidating in black, and he looked more powerful.
Clearing her throat, Emma put forward her statement.

"This is my resignation letter. I'm resigning my job, Mr. Jeon.''

Hering her, the frawn on his face snatched away. He gaped at her for a few moments before standing up and coming towards her. He stood in front of her, still keeping eye contact.Emma too looked at him with her sad eyes, hoping he would understand her unspoken words, but alas! Jungkook's mind was already filled with lies, and whatever he saw with his own eyes, he wanted to believe in Emma, but after that, he shrugged that off too.
Because whenever Jungkook is in rage, he cannot think rationally and believes whatever he sees, and after seeing those files in Emma's house, he too saw her as the culprit.

"And what makes you think that I'll let you resign, Miss Emma?"
His tone was calm yet devious, which made Emma shiver. The disappointed look in his eyes for her didn't go unnoticed by her, but his statement confused her. She looked at him with her confused eyes, wanting her answers when Jungkook elucidated her.
"Hadn't you read the contract carefully, Miss Emma?" "You can't leave this job for at least one year as you signed on to this condition before joining and your one year hasn't completed yet."
Jungkook cleared her confusion by gazing at her hazel eyes with his dark black orbs. Emma looked at him, letting out a sigh, and spoke.

"But I can't work here, Mr. Jeon. I can't work at a place where everyone will look at me like I'm some kind of criminal. I can't face the humiliating gaze everyone will pass at me; I can't work in an environment where people will see me as the culprit and look at me in disgust."

Emma let out whatever was in her heart, and her breathing rate increased. She was tired of all this and just wanted to leave this place peacefully. Is it that hard to ask?

"Why don't you believe me, Mr. Jeon?" Do you really think that I can do something like this? Don't you have the slightest trust in me? Tell me, Mr. Jeon, have I ever disappointed you in my work? Have I ever given you a chance to complain? Then how can you think that I would do something like this?"

Emma asked in her shaking voice as a lone tear escaped from her eyes while staring at him. Jungkook's face was stoic; there were no expressions on his face. Eyeing her figure, Jungkook replied.

"I believe  "Whatever I see, Emma, and right now everything is against you, if you want me to believe you, then instead of resigning this job, you should try to prove that you are innocent."

"And trust me, Emma, whenever I find that you are not behind all these, I will find the culprit and punish him in the most cruel way."

Jungkook seethed, controlling his anger. His eyes turned red in rage; only he knows what that project cost him. It was his dream, and someone snatched it from him in the most horrible way. He will not leave that person who was behind this. He was on fire and wanted to burn everything in his way.
Emma was scared, seeing the change in his behavior. She knows not to poke the hungry lion right now, and she also knows that she can't leave this place for one year. Having no choice left, Emma accepted her fate and decided to stay here and find the person who was behind all this. She will be cautious, as Hanna told her to be.
