The next morning, Mom and I decided to admire the scenery of Manhattan. Every shopping mall, famous skyscraper, or memorable place in New York - it was good to feel happy even for a moment.

Our day was spent getting acquainted with the new city, which for a short time created an air of comfort.

In the evening, we returned home. That's when I decided to confess to my mother about my future work - sooner or later, the woman would still find out about my plans. At first, she was silent, but then I saw a bliss of relief in Sophia's eyes.

___

The first two weeks in New York flew by.

In the mornings and afternoons, I spent time with my family or explored the city, but when the sun went down, the horizon became flooded with the colors of danger and heart desires.

Almost every night I spent in Red Lions Space with Aurora and Harry, trying to learn the ins and outs of the job. My cousin tried her best to involve me in the life of the club. Harry, on the other hand, was so sure of himself.

I'd never thought of mixing alcohol and making cocktails as an art, but every night spent behind the bar with Harry changed my mind. Seeing the guy's sincere smile and dedication to work, I had to admit that this is art.

On that fateful night in June, I was ready.

The sunset cast a red streak across the horizon of Manhattan's suburban. Aurora and I were getting ready for the club. To this day, the thought of the stranger's black eyes hasn't left me - in my mind, I cursed myself incessantly that I couldn't stop thinking about the depth of the brown eyes, surrounded by darkness.

I slipped into Adam's car and took a deep breath as I stared out the window. I couldn't calm down the intertwining thoughts that seemed to get stronger as we drove down the New York freeway. Adam's smile and happy mood and Aurora's eyelashes fluttering with happiness calmed my condition a little.

When I arrived at the club, once again I saw a crowd stretching to the end of the block, eager to catch a glimpse of the Red Lions Space.

"Good luck!" the guard with blue eyes smiled at me.

I smiled and went inside. The red-hued club was packed, but the staff were getting ready for the evening ahead. I followed Aurora into the staff room where I stripped off the clothes I was wearing.

I felt extremely uncomfortable looking at my glowing reflection in the mirror, covered in red vulgar clothes. Holding the black lace braided mask in my hands, I smiled - maybe this small detail would hide my identity for a little while.

My thoughts were interrupted by the sudden opening of the door.

"I'm so glad, that you came. Are you ready?" Harry's voice was heard in the doorway.
