As the words, spoken by Leonardo, reach my ears, my arms and legs bent.
Why can't Elijah come near me?
Thousands of questions ran through my mind. I just stood there freaked out and confused. In the periphery, I saw that Aurora ran up to Elijah. Harry was running towards them carrying an ice pack.
Aurora and Leonardo started to scream at each other. I shook myself as I turned away and looked down, still feeling the crooked eyes of Aurora and Harry.
I looked at Elijah. Blood gushed from his nose. His cut lip twitched in terror. Aurora tried to wipe the drying red liquid from his lips while she glared at me. I leaned over to the guy and said, "I'm sorry."
"Don't apologize, it's not your fault. Besides, I'm fine," Elijah murmured while squeezing his eyes shut.
"No, you're not," I whispered to myself and focused my eyes on Leonardo.
While he was cleaning his bloody fists, he turned around mercilessly.
Did he plan to leave me after this? Without explanation?
I didn't understand his actions, I didn't understand the reason for this aggressive behavior - all I wanted was an explanation.
The only logical course of action, that would get his attention was risky. I ran after him and hardly grabbed Leonardo's forearm, glaring at him.
He, as I expected, was surprised and turned around. He raised an eyebrow when he saw my hand, wrapped around his forearm.
Meanwhile, caught up in the excitement, I gave in for a moment. I furiously tugged him to follow me up the stairs to the second floor.
Strangely, the man did not resist and allowed himself to be led.
As we climbed the stairs, Leonardo flicked my lower back with his free hand. Shivers immediately ran down my spine and warmed my cheeks.
Asshole.
"I just need to understand, why would you do this. I need to fix this."
He just snorted as he followed.
"It's not funny, you know. You could have broken his nose. Why are you doing this?" I asked angrily.
As soon as I got up the stairs, he drastically let himself free and slammed me against the wall. It seems that my question offended him.
What a déjà vu.
While leaning his whole body over me, he brushed the hair away from my ear with his free hand. I could feel him breathing in my ear. I began to breathe more deeply - as my own body betrayed me and couldn't resist the man, standing before me.
Leonardo noticed this and leaned down to whisper in my ear, "You think you can fix this? That's my job."
Still slamming me against the wall, Leonardo gently licked my ear. I closed my eyes. It was strange to feel him so close, even though we were in an open minefield.
