A sharp turn to the right. I can feel how the fingers buckle underneath the plastic fabric. Light tapping of my right foot keeps me concentrated.
And once again.
I slumped back into the chair as I cupped my mouth, open with irritation. My father was sitting nearby. He decided to break this annoying silence.
"Son, we need to do something about this. No one knows where the pistols we ordered last week disappeared. Also, I don't want to bother you even more, but we were supposed to distribute the product in East Corner...
The men, who are responsible for selling the drugs, said that the quantity of goods was limited. Due to the current situation, the employees are intimidated. Then there's the fact Apollo Fotos is missing. That ill-fated contract you are so keen about must be terminated with him."
I raised my hand to reach for the back of my head. As soon as I looked at my father and his worried eyes, I suddenly hissed, "We won't terminate anything. Not with Apollo. I desperately need this contract, you know that."
Fabio frowned and coughed under his breath. Luka, who was sitting next to him, only cringed in horror.
"Why? Does this vital reason to not terminate the contract have a name?"
As I clenched my fingers, I turned my gaze to my brother. Fabio threw his attention to Luka to silence the young man.
"It's none of your business, Luka. I just need this contract. Also, it's a great opportunity to expand our business," I turned to my father, "I need to hide and discretely cover some of the jobs."
Luka snorted and slammed his hands on the back of the leather couch. Fabio nodded in agreement.
"Yes, you are right, but the contract must be signed as soon as possible. I'm worried about the recent affairs of the narcotics unit. The employees are furious, intimidated, and, worst of all, dumb since they don't know what's happening. It seems that they are defending themselves and each other as hard as possible. They don't know where the goods keep disappearing."
"One of them must be a rat," Luka interjected, while he kept scratching his hands.
Do you mean the informant?
"Yes, but which one?" Fabio turned to him. "We won't kill every member of the gang in a row to find out such a thing. We have to stop delivering packages for a while."
I nodded as I watched how Luka poured the whiskey into his glass.
"And what are we going to tell the suppliers?" Luka worried.
"Since you are responsible for this sphere, you come up with it," I muttered.
Fabio just waved his hands in protest.
"So, we must sign a contract with Apollo Fotos."
"Yes, but it seems that he disappeared as soon as he agreed to consider the terms of the contract."
