My eyelids are so heavy.
As soon as I opened my eyes, I noticed a bright light. Turns out, a medical worker was checking my pupils. The guy grinned as he turned off the flashlight and helped me stand up.
Was I passed out?
I looked to my right and caught a glimpse of Aurora's body being carried down the club stairs on a stretcher. With the last of my strength, I hurried after her.
"What happened?! Why hasn't anyone been working for an hour?" I heard that familiar and extremely harsh voice, as I was moving down the stairs.
At the bar, that same stranger was explaining something to Harry with fists and words. The enraged man hurled all kinds of curses.
A thought appeared in my head - perhaps this anger is coming from the owner of the Red Lions Space?
But that would be too unrealistic, would it?
As I climbed down the stairs and held on to the paramedic who was checking my condition, I kept watching Harry. Involuntarily, I freed myself from the guy's hand and rushed downstairs with the last of my strength.
I wanted to help (maybe defend) Harry, so I ran towards the bar but stopped at the last second. As I was approaching the stranger's back, all logical thoughts in my head evaporated.
The aroma of his perfume flooded my nostrils, muscles straining through his white silk shirt. I wanted to open my mouth, but the man slowly turned to me.
The stranger looked different since the last time I saw him. The sharp and bright brown eyes, looking at me, were obscured by dark eyebags. Loose strands of brownish-black hair were clinging to the man's face.
I licked my lips, trying to open my mouth, but I couldn't. I was almost blinded by the depth of those brown eyes, looking at me through the image of anger.
I felt the heavy touch of the paramedic's hand, beckoning me to go with Aurora, so I just turned away from the stranger's charming eyes and followed the guy.
Feeling the shadow of the paramedic lurking on the side, I walked with bare feet to the ambulance - this is where my and the stranger's paths diverged.
___
As soon as we reached the hospital reception, Aurora was taken away.
The abundance of doctors and their rush, the hustle and bustle of people, and the smell of spirits made me mad.
I wasn't allowed to enter Aurora's ward, so I shuffled to the door of the ward with my bare feet and high heels in my hands. I should have brought something to change or put on something more decent because the eyes of other patients and visitors pierced me from head to toe.
