On the second day, imprisoned by D'Angelo's side, I spent half the day running around shops with Leonardo. It seemed like the man wanted to turn me into a sparkling toy in the eyes of his society.

As if letting me out of his sight would make me shatter into thousands of pieces.

Walking past shop windows adorned with various designers' logos, I noticed Leonardo's increasingly frequent glances. Leonardo's main henchmen were trailing behind us. During the trip, I managed to remember their names: Martin and Patrick, so I was proud of myself.

As long as this deal lasts, I won't have the right to take a single step alone, so I'd better get acquainted.

Look at me, blending in, I laughed to myself.

I caressed the sparkling dresses on the hangers, wondering how I could afford even one garment since Mom and Uncle didn't give me a cent. My own earned money wouldn't be enough.

I grabbed the tag of one of the dresses with my fingers. Seeing the price, I sighed bitterly.

Nearby, sitting on a chair in the store, was Leonardo.

He bit the arm of his sunglasses, saying, "Don't worry. Go try it on."

I turned to the man. I wanted to explain that I would feel very uncomfortable knowing that he'd pay for my every whim, but I just turned my eyes away.

I couldn't look at him. Not because it annoyed me, but because I couldn't stop cursing my treacherous heart in my mind. Even sitting in the middle of the store and being bored, he managed to look impeccable.

I wandered my fingers among various dresses until my eye was caught by the one. I grabbed the hanger and sneaked to the fitting room.

A red dress with a deep neckline. Its pleats reached the floor, and a sewn cut on the right leg accentuated the figure.

I looked at myself in the mirror, unable to stop smiling.

My solitude was interrupted by the store's saleswoman.

She was holding black high heels in her hands. I put them on and stepped into the store hall.

Martin and Patrick adjusted their black-rimmed glasses by the doors.

Leonardo only lifted his eyes from the mobile phone screen. He looked me up and down from head to the black high heels and lowered his eyes back to the screen.

"We'll take it. Go change; we need to go."

Prick, I frowned.

I expected at least a tiny reaction from him, but apparently, he really doesn't have time to react like a normal person would.

I quickly changed out of the dress and hurried out of the fitting room. I tossed the garment near the cash register and watched Leonardo's fingers sliding the card through the reader.
