He sat there in the dark cave, a small fire burning. He could feel the moment getting closer. He had waited a long time for it. The moment he had heard the prophecy, of a young Asgardian witch, so powerful, that even the famous Enchantress couldnt defeat her. He knew he had to get her on his side.

It was the only way he could destroy Odin, to take the throne as the rightful king of Asgard.

It hadn't taken him long to find the mother, Astrid. He knew her secret, how this witch child was conceived.

An illegal union with a gatekeeper.

It was perfect.

When he found the witch, she was no match for him. And he eventually made her promise, that when she came to her powers, she would hand over the child, and that she would belong to him. And if Astrid didnt, he would destroy her, and take the child anyway.

He remembered back to the day, having been visiting for years now. Finding she had gone, she had left her coven. It didnt take him long to find her. He saw the child in question, around the age of four.

Astrid though, was waiting for him. She used a spell and enchantments, protecting her daughter. So he couldnt get to her.

When he pushed that blade through her stomach, he thought the enchantment would lift.

But it didnt.

He had nothing.

He chased many leads after that, searching for her, but found nothing.

He had to be patient.

He knew she would use her powers and when she did, he would be ready.

When the surge of magic filled the air in his cave, it sparkled. Even in a different realm, he could feel her.

Finally He grinned.
