"Boys! Breakfast is ready!" Jay shouted upstairs from the kitchen where she was standing behind the stove flipping pancakes.
Shortly after she heard a pair of heavy footsteps stomping down the stairs and a pair of light ones tapping softly on the wood.
Louis was first to appear in the kitchen with his usual messy mop on his head and stubble that was getting longer because he was too lazy to shave, a loose black shirt that didn't fully cover the font that was inked into his skin across his chest, not even to start with his arms that were littered in black sketches with red highlights here and there. His dark blue jeans were ripped as if he didn't have the money to buy new ones and he was already wearing his Nike Airs although he knew Jay hated when they were wearing shoes in the house claiming they always made everything dirty and she had to clean up after them- with 'them' she mainly meant Louis.
Just a few steps behind him Harry stepped into the open room as well, being the complete opposite wearing white jeans with light pink fluffy socks and a baby blue jumper that was too big on him because he had stolen it from Louis a few weeks ago who didn't mind, already being used to Harry suddenly having half of his jumpers and oversized shirts in his closet.
"Morning mum." Louis grinned and pressed a sloppy kiss to her cheek and his eyes lit up when he saw the stack of pancakes. "Thank fuck, I'm starving!"
"Louis! Language!" Jay hissed and slapped his arm with a towel.
"Good morning, mum." Harry said not even half as loud as Louis whose voice had the volume of a chimpanzee.
"Good morning, my love." Jay smiled and kissed his cheek when he rounded the counter and grabbed two bottles of orange juice out of the fridge. He trudged to the table and sat down next to Louis, placing one bottle in front of him.
"Ew. Don't we have coke?" Louis asked disgusted.
"Lou, coke's not good for your teeth. And you need vitamins for the day." Harry murmured still tired from just waking up fifteen minutes ago and rubbed his eye with his sleeve.
"Ugh, fine! But only because you got it for me." Louis grumbled but with a smile on his face when Harry giggled proudly and he flicked his nose playfully.
"Here you go, boys. And eat enough, today is going to be a long day. Don't forget, dad's waiting for you at home after school to go shopping for your new school stuff so don't dawdle and come home immediately, yeah?" Jay reminded as she placed the pancakes on the table and Louis instantly grabbed two of them without a care.
"Yes, mum!" Louis groaned. "You told us already like, a quadrillion times!"
"And I also know why. You have the memory of a goldfish, Louis!" Jay scolded and went back to the kitchen to grab the marmelade and syrup to put them in front of them.
"But Haz doesn't." Louis mumbled with his mouth full.
"Lou, don't talk while eating." Harry scrunched up his nose disgusted and reached his hand up, pushing Louis' lips together to keep him from talking.
"You think it's gross?" Louis grinned after swatting his hand away and Harry nodded. "What about this then?" He opened his mouth widely still with the already chewed pancakes on his tongue.
"Ewwww!" Harry shrieked and slapped his hands over his eyes. "Mum!"
"Louis, behave!" Jay scolded. "You're not twelve anymore." She sighed.
"I'm just joking." Louis cackled. "I'm sorry, Haz. I won't do it again." He said softer now and peeled Harry's hands off and kept one of them in his own.
"It's fine." Harry giggled and glanced down at their hands under the table, loving when Louis was all sweet and caring to him like right now when he brushed his thumb over his knuckles in circles.
