After a seemingly never ending night of crying and getting drowned in the darkest thoughts with no sleep at all and a hammering headache, Louis was leaning now against the window frame of his hotel room smoking a cigarette and staring into the early morning hours that dowsed the quiet city of Doncaster in a calm orange light.

He sighed, once more fighting against the burn of unshed tears in his eyes and he couldn't wait to escape this city that held too many memories he couldn't endure thinking of for any longer.

What was he thinking? That he could come back even if it was just for a day and leave without causing himself even more damage? As usual he made that decision without thinking which turned out to be the wrong one- again- and now he was pitying himself for no reason at all because he was the only one to blame.

Gosh, you're so embarrassingly pathetic, he thought to himself.

He shook his head and flicked the cigarette out of the window before closing it and starting to fold his clothes he wore yesterday to store them away in his bag so he could finally leave the city behind for once and for all.

Once he grabbed his toiletry bag from the bathroom he was about to leave the room to check out when his phone rang making him jump slightly. He sighed deeply when he saw the caller ID.

"What?" He asked when he accepted the call.

"Bro, when did you want to tell us you're here?" Liam got straight to the point with a slight disappointment in his voice.

"Don't 'bro' me." Louis huffed. "And what do you mean with 'here'?"

"In Donny, idiot."

"How would you know if I was?"

"People talk." Liam said casually.

"They're lying. I'm not in Donny." Louis said quickly.

"Oh, so you didn't threaten two teens to beat them up yesterday?" Liam asked expectantly.

"Fuck." Louis muttered before clearing his throat. "Okay, fine. Yes, I am here. But I was just about to leave now, so there was no reason to tell you."

"What the fuck, Louis? We haven't seen each other in almost a year and now we're all here over the holidays and you just want to leave quietly without seeing anyone?"

"Yes, that's exactly what I want. If you excuse me now, I have to check out." Louis said annoyed.

"Nope. No. I won't accept that. Tomorrow is your birthday, so we at least have to celebrate, we go out tonight with the whole clique and get hammered and then you can do whatever you want." Liam decided firmly.

"No. I will leave now. Bye." Louis said hastily and hung up without waiting for an answer.

He hurried down the stairs when the elevators took him too long because he knew Liam well enough to know that he wouldn't accept him leaving like this. When the receptionist finally managed to check him out after a long ten minutes he rushed to his car, but when he rounded the corner he stopped with an annoyed huff when he saw Zayn leaning against the trunk of his car casually while Liam glared at him with crossed arms next to him.

"Look who's here. Is that you, Louis?" Zayn grinned.

"Fuck off, I want to go home." Louis grumbled.

"Lou-" Liam started, but Louis interrupted him.

"What do you want? Seriously? I'm really not in the mood to see anyone, so please let me go."

"Yeah, no. Not gonna happen." Zayn shrugged.

"We won't let you go now, no chance. We already told Niall and the girls and you're going out with us tonight, if you want to or not." Liam said.

"You can't force me to. I'm gonna run over you once I'm sitting in my car." Louis threatened.
