On their way to school on Monday Louis and Harry were both quiet and the mood wasn't the best overall, the air was filled with an unpleasant silence when not even the radio was on and Harry stared out of the window watching the houses and little shops they were passing while Louis concentrated on the road with a stone cold face. The only thing that wasn't different from any other day they were driving together was that their fingers were intertwined in Harry's lap.
Their parents came home on Sunday night and the house was a huge mess. The boys spent all weekend cuddling, making out and lazing around, not bothering to clean up at all, doing laundry or any other chores they were supposed to do to show their responsibility. They only left Louis' bed for grabbing the delivered food from the door and going to the bathroom when needed. Jay and Mark were accordingly angry when they arrived already exhausted from the long journey but had to clean up the mess because the boys were asleep already, so when Louis and Harry got up this morning they were met with Jay yelling at them and grounding both of them for a week taking away Louis' console and Harry's books.
"I feel bad." Harry whispered.
"No, bub. They're exaggerating as always. It wasn't even as bad as they said and they were gone for three days, it's not like we were supposed to clean and tidy up every corner from top to bottom we weren't even responsible for catching dust and shit." Louis huffed.
"But still! I hate when mum's angry with me." Harry whined.
Louis huffed annoyed and rolled his eyes. He already was in a terrible mood and that Harry was complaining now like a child was only making him even more annoyed with everything and he just wanted to turn around and go back to bed not wanting to hear anything from anyone today.
"She will come around, she always does. When we're home later everything is alright again." He sighed.
"Easy for you to say. You always cause trouble and are used to fighting with mum and dad, but I'm a good boy. I'm not doing stupid stuff like you." Harry muttered. Louis stepped on the breaks- thankfully there was no one behind them- and turned his head with a sour facial expression.
"What's that supposed to mean?" He challenged.
"I'm only in trouble because of you." Harry pouted.
"Are you fucking serious right now?" Louis asked baffled.
"Yes! I told you we have to clean up on Saturday, but you didn't want to!" Harry argued.
"You were the one who didn't want to anymore, finding it more important to make out and stuff, but sure you're mommy's little perfect angel." Louis spat.
Harry gasped and his eyebrows furrowed in anger.
"I am! You're the problematic one of us!" He snapped back.
"If I'm so bad then get out of my fucking car and walk!" Louis gritted out.
"Fine. I'm gonna tell mum." Harry huffed and unbuckled his seatbelt before getting out and throwing the door shut angrily.
Louis dropped his head on the steering wheel and hit it repeatedly groaning in annoyance. He got out of the car as well and watched for a few seconds how Harry stomped along the sidewalk shaking his head at their ridiculous fight and leaned his arm on the roof of the car.
"You're walking into the wrong direction!" He shouted when Harry turned right at the next crossing. He turned around grimly and stared at him crossing his arms over his chest.
"I know that!" He snapped, but stomped back and turned left- which was still the wrong way.
"Get your ass back in here already, gosh!" Louis yelled. "How can someone be so fucking lost?" He muttered to himself.
