"Hey, mum, dad? You have in mind that my party is this weekend, right?" Louis asked after he sat down at the dining table being the last one as usual, no matter what time of the day it was.
"What party?" Mark asked as he filled his plate with casserole.
"My 'back to school party'. Come on, dad. I throw this party every year!" Louis groaned.
"Oh, that party. You know, you're having so many parties, sometimes I lose track. Maybe you should make a list with the dates when you plan on kicking us out of the house." Mark reasoned with a smile.
"Oh let them be, honey. We were young once as well." Jay chuckled. "But this year Harry can't come with us."
"Why not?" Louis asked.
"What do I do then?" Harry asked fearfully at the same time.
"You know your aunt just had twins and it's already too much trouble for her, so I told her it's only dad and I who come to visit. I didn't think it will be a problem seeing Harry gets along with your friends as well." She said confused but Louis groaned.
"Mum, do you have any idea what's going on at those parties? I can't play his fucking babysitter the entire evening!" He complained.
"You don't have to. He's sixteen in a week, he's old enough to watch out and behave, right, Harry?" Jay shrugged.
"Are you for real right now?" Louis asked baffled without letting Harry answer. "You are always the one acting like he's five years old and that I should take care of him and shit!"
"Louis, language." Mark sighed.
"Rather say something! You can't be fine with Harry attending a highschool party!" Louis looked at Mark crazily who sighed.
"Lou's right. I don't even want to be there." Harry mumbled. He wanted nothing more than to be there but he didn't want Louis to be angry with him or ruin his party so he tried to save the situation.
"Last time we spoke about it you complained that you finally want to go to one of those parties and now we're doing you the favour and trust you, you don't want to?" Jay asked confused.
Louis glanced at Harry who stared at the table to avoid eye contact between them but lifted his head when Louis kicked his shin under the table and he grimaced. Louis' eyes bored into his own and he tried to make out what Harry was thinking when after a short while Louis sighed.
"He stays with me." He announced and Harry looked at him confused. "I know you want to stay, so you can stay." He said quietly to him and then continued louder. "But I don't take responsibility for him. Whatever might happen, it's not my fault. It's yours." He glanced at his parents seriously who both huffed with eyerolls.
"I'm sure you can behave as long as you follow the rules that apply for house parties." Mark said sternly.
"Of course! I only invited about twenty people and didn't post anything on the internet. No drugs apart from weed-"
"Not even weed, Louis." Mark said with raised eyebrows.
"Fine." Louis rolled his eyes. "No drugs at all and no alcohol for the underage. Keeping the music to a reasonable volume and when the cops come the party is over without arguing and whatever might break I have to pay from my own money. Yeah, yeah. Do we always have to get through this?" He groaned.
"Yes, we do." Jay said sternly. "Louis, we want you to be reasonable. We can easily forbid you throwing these parties, so don't test us."
"Yeah, I know. And I'm grateful for that, really. But nothing will happen, I always make sure to only invite people I trust and tell everyone about the rules." Louis reasoned.
