As promised the chapter because we surpassed 1k, yaaaay! Enjoy. x
Saturday morning was a beautiful early autumn day, the sun was shining brightly, the birds were tweeting and the crickets were chirping. Family fathers got up early to mow the lawn and the queue at the bakery was longer than usual, everyone wanted freshly baked scones and sweet pastries for breakfast.
Louis scrunched up his nose and squeezed his eyes shut tightly when he woke up, already feeling the light headache and he internally groaned. He didn't get it, he barely drank anything, why the hell did he have a headache? That was probably the karma for being such an asshole to Harry yesterday.
Harry.
His eyes snapped open, not caring about the bright light in the room from the sunrays that were shining through the window because Louis had forgotten to close the blinds, and he looked down only to see Harry sleeping peacefully. He had his arm still thrown around him but his hand had slipped under his shirt and now Louis felt the touch of his warm hand on his waist. Harry's head was laying on the mattress but his face was squeezed between the bed and Louis' torso, his leg was thrown over Louis' thighs.
Louis dropped his head back on the pillow and closed his eyes once more when he heard footsteps in the hallway. He knew exactly what that meant. Ten seconds later his door opened and he could swear his mum was poking her head inside so he acted like he was still sleeping. He didn't hear anything for a few seconds not knowing if she left again or not, so he dared to peek one eye open which turned out to be a mistake when Jay was still standing in the doorway quirking an eyebrow at him.
"I knew you're not sleeping." She whispered amused and Louis opened his eyes fully and rolled them as far back to his head as possible.
"Dammit. To be fair I woke up a minute ago." He rasped out and rubbed his eye.
"Was he sleeping here already when you came home?" Jay nodded to Harry.
"Yeah. Curled up like a fucking dog." Louis huffed.
"He shouldn't be. He's grounded and that means no sleepover in your room." Jay said sternly. "And stop swearing."
"Why's he grounded?" Louis frowned, thinking back to yesterday if he had missed something.
"He told me what happened." Jay said.
"He what?" Louis asked baffled.
"Yeah. At first he tried to lie to me but we both know how bad he is at that and that the guilt ate him up before he even finished his sentence, so he told me." Jay shrugged.
"What an idiot." Louis huffed.
Jay sighed amused but turned around and left the room quietly.
Louis reached over to the nightstand and grabbed his phone scrolling through the messages he had received throughout the night, not intending to get out of bed anytime soon. He got a little cold at some point so he grabbed the duvet and threw it over himself and made sure Harry was covered as well. Just then Harry grumbled something incomprehensible and lifted his head, opening his eyes slowly.
They stared at each other until realisation on what happened yesterday hit Harry and he dropped his head guiltily.
"Look at me." Louis demanded.
Harry sighed deeply and slowly lifted his head looking at him through tired eyes.
"Why the fuck did you tell mum the truth? Are you stupid?" Louis asked disbelieving.
"I..." Harry croaked out and cleared his throat. "I felt so bad. I'm so sorry, Lou. I swear! Please don't hate me!" He teared up and Louis sighed dramatically and pulled him in his chest.
